Zhing Wen Woon is a Risk Analyst in Strategic Risk Consulting within WTW Singapore’s Risk and Analytics function. She joined WTW’s Graduate Program because it closely aligned with her academic background in Risk Analytics and her interest in analytical and consulting‑focused work.

Applying academic learning in practice

Zhing Wen applied to this program because the role aligned with her academic background in Risk Analytics and her interest in analytical and consulting work. She was looking for a graduate opportunity where she could apply her academic knowledge in a practical setting while developing new technical skills. WTW stood out as a place offering strong exposure within the Risk and Analytics space.

Experiencing a flat and open culture

What surprised Zhing Wen most when she joined was the flat organisational structure.  People across different levels of seniority were approachable and easy to interact with and senior colleagues were always willing to share knowledge and take time to answer questions.

Building confidence in a fast-paced environment

Zhing Wen is currently a Risk Analyst in Strategic Risk Consulting, where she supports analytical and consulting work for clients. What Zhing Wen enjoys most about her role is the positive team dynamic. She finds her teammates friendly, supportive and willing to guide her as she learns.
At the same time, she acknowledges that the workload can feel challenging when project timelines are tight. The steep learning curve and fast pace mean she often needs to pick things up quickly, but this is an important part of building confidence early.

Support systems that make a difference

Zhing Wen has benefited from strong peer support from her graduate cohort, as well as guidance from her mentor and buddy. This support system has helped her manage both workload and well‑being, making a noticeable difference in how she navigates new responsibilities. Her manager has also encouraged her to consider pursuing qualifications to further strengthen her technical skill set. Reflecting on her experience so far, Zhing Wen says she wishes she had built networking skills earlier in her career. Working with colleagues from different functions has helped her better understand how teams operate, strengthen collaboration and support stronger teamwork across the business.

Her advice to future graduates is to consider insurance consulting as a career option. She describes it as a niche but resilient field that has remained stable even during periods of uncertainty, offering opportunities across different roles, whether client‑facing or analytical.
