.Key responsibilities

Insight delivery:

  • Conducts market research, including identification of relevant sources of information, aggregation/synthesis of findings, and delivery, applying AI-enabled tools to accelerate insight generation, and takes ownership of selected strategic research projects 

  • Drives the end-to-end delivery of high-quality projects, agreeing scope and timelines with stakeholders

  • Design and deliver quantitative research solutions, including market sizing, market landscaping, and commercial analytics, to support 

    • Prospect evaluation

    • Whitespace Identification

    • Industry prioritisation 

    • Market assessment 

    • Market share and share‑of‑wallet analysis

  • Define, test, and refine model parameters, assumptions, and scenarios to ensure analytical robustness.

  • Champions the adoption of AI and advanced analytics techniques within MCI, identifying opportunities to automate research workflows and enhance the speed and quality of insight generation. 

 

Data sourcing, integration & quality

  • Leads the sourcing and integration of multiple internal and external data sets, including emerging AI-driven data sources, to support quantitative insight. 

  • Perform data preparation, validation, and quality control to ensure accuracy, integrity, and transparency of outputs. 

  • Drives more systematic and scalable approaches to combining internal and external data across MCI projects, including identifying opportunities for AI and automation to improve efficiency. 

 

Insight generation & communication

  • Translate complex analysis into clear, narrative‑based insights and recommendations for business stakeholders. 

  • Develop reports, presentations, and visual outputs — including AI-enhanced dashboards and tools — that communicate insight effectively

  • Balance detailed analytical work with big‑picture interpretation and commercial implications. 

Qualifications

Eligibility

  • Strong analytical mindset with a proven track record of turning data into clear, actionable insight. 

  • Demonstrated experience in quantitative research, market sizing, market landscaping, workflow analysis, or pricing analysis, with a track record of driving projects with minimal oversight. 

  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, data modelling, and scenario analysis as standard practice. 

  • Experience building or working with Power BI dashboards or similar business intelligence tools.

  • Experience with a wide range of research tools, techniques, and sources

  • Foundational knowledge of the elements of business and market strategy, and the ability to apply to market and company research to generate insights and recommendations

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders, collaborate with colleagues, and fulfil business needs

  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, setting clear milestones and meeting deadlines

  • High level of attention to detail and focus on accuracy

  • Self-starter capable of proactive investigation and analysis

  • Team player capable of working in the best interests of the firm

  • Strong attention to detail, with a clear focus on data quality and analytical integrity. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. 

Desirable 

  • Proficiency in Python and/or SQL, with experience applying AI/machine learning techniques to research automation and analytics. 

  • Practical experience applying AI, GenAI, or automation tools (e.g. Python, SQL, Copilot/GenAI platforms) to enhance research efficiency, data processing, or insight generation.

  • Experience working in market insight, market intelligence, strategy, research, or competitive analysis roles. 

  • Knowledge of financial services, investments, pensions, or regulated environments.
