Description
The Scrum Master has the primary focus of managing one or more technical teams, driving delivery, managing and resolving project issues, dependencies and risks and ensuring high quality project delivery using hybrid of Waterfall and Agile delivery framework. The Scrum Master will also be expected to ensure delivery of management information to key business and Technology stakeholders, including accurate reporting against plan/ milestones and budget.

Motivates and drives the technical teams to deliver high quality outcomes in line with estimates
- Initiates and fosters collaboration, communication, and team building
- Drives self-management from the team where impediments, issues, and improvements are identified and actioned by the team
- Fosters a team culture where risks and issues are managed at the lowest responsible level by communicating and collaborating with team members.
- Drives the team for efficiency through effective collaboration, and continuous refinement of team practices and working agreements.
- Works effectively with matrix managed teams, developing relationships with functional Leads to assist in the resolution of any resource issues

Delivery
Accounts for definition of the plan and resource demand required to deliver to plan, managing budget against plan
Ensures process is defined for managing and tracking the proposed, and ultimately realised, benefits of a delivery
Ensures scrum teams deliver to plan and ensures immediate escalation of risks or blockers to the committed schedule along with proposed resolution/mitigation options (in line with agreed meeting cadence)
Holds the team accountable on the adherence to the governance which includes some Scrum artefacts such as Daily Stand Up, huddles and Retrospective.
Ensures value of each event are met and utilises team retrospective to drive continuous improvement while actions are regularly monitored and reviewed
Drive improvements in delivery quality and cadence
Support the resolution of risks and issues
Acts as a model for addressing conflict and barriers to collaboration
Collaborates with Tech Lead to ensure team execution and performance are aligned with business objectives - near and long-term
Attends daily Milestone Variance Reporting/ SOS meetings to report into the Tech Leads on any blockers and progress including burndown on each project

Able to facilitate stakeholder meetings as necessary in the lifecycle of project delivery

Able to understand and articulate when waterfall practices are needed (e.g. design documentation) and able to manage integrated teams across a number of functions
Responsible for ensuring that lessons learnt sessions are held and any outputs are fed into both the Scrum and Leadership teams
Ensure consistent use of JIRA managing projects across a number of Scrum teams
Responsible for ensuring consistent reporting of progress at both User Stories and Epic level through accurate Point allocation, and burn down throughout the Sprint
Responsible for ensuring consistent reporting of progress in line with TMO reporting standards and financial process against plan
Ensures outputs are of a quality sufficient to enable transition into support
Qualifications
The Requirements
Knowledge:
- Highly experienced and knowledgeable of the Scrum delivery methodologies
- Business knowledge to understand the relevant business objectives and issues
Skills:
- At least 5 years of Project Management experience working with distributed software development products and teams.
- Highly knowledgeable on common project management practices and proven working experience with MS Project
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teamwork in and across teams and organizations.
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
- Hands-on management of Scrum projects and their outcomes, rather than passively collecting and reporting metrics.
- Strong ability to identify potential issues and dependencies early.
- Quickly facilitates mitigation plans, alternative approaches and communication of risks.
- Experience with JIRA, JAMA and/or Confluence.
- Analytical thinker with creative problem solving skills and attention to detail.
- Preference for PM certifications
