Join us as a Pensions Operations Excellence Analyst within our Outsourcing line of business based out of our office in Redhill working hybrid.
The Pensions Operations Excellence Analyst role is an exciting opportunity and pivotal to the delivery and growth of the LifeSight Product. LifeSight is WTW’s Defined Contribution (DC) MasterTrust with administration undertaken by WTW’s dedicated trust-based business. LifeSight currently has a membership of over 400k with an AUM of c.£25bn. Reporting into the LifeSight Operational Excellence (OpEx) Lead, you will be jointly responsible for LifeSight’s Operational Excellence function, including supporting the delivery of operations improvements/enhancements, supporting the maintaining of a culture of continuous improvement and supporting team members skills development through Lean training.
The Role
Operational Excellence
Adhere to operational excellence strategy and support subsequent process improvement projects in line with the annual roadmap approved by the LifeSight Operations Manager and LifeSight Operations Director to support LifeSight’s broader business and commercial objectives and as a leading master trust using Lean Six Sigma and other continuous improvement methodologies and market data. This will include analysing workflows, process and systems to identify bottlenecks and drive efficiency and quality improvements
Work alongside the LifeSight OpEx Lead to prepare forward looking cost benefit estimates and backward-looking cost benefit assessments of process improvement projects for relevant stakeholders in line with LifeSight OGB internal governance
Adherence to the DMAIC framework during improvement projects and provision of relevant reporting
Continuously measures and monitors processes, risks and controls by conducting post- implementation reviews and project follow-up
Ensure reporting to LifeSight OpEx Lead on quality and process improvements is timely, informative and meets agreed standards and work alongside LifeSight OpEx Lead to align process improvements with LifeSight vision and LifeSight product changes
Identify technological enhancements to improve process efficiency and effectiveness, and work with LifeSight OpEx Lead, LifeSight product technology and LifeSight admin projects team to scope and implement new developments in line with operational excellence findings
Assist in developing strength in a Continuous Improvement (CI) culture throughout the LifeSight administration team including training, coaching and delivery of CI initiatives. Ensuring mechanisms are in place to communicate and drive colleague involvement within continuous improvement projects and continually review their effectiveness and explore new options
Responsibility for the upkeep and maintenance of the LifeSight MyCI improvement suggestion board and tracker and work with OpEx Lead to provide regular reporting to LifeSight Executive
General
Support the LifeSight OpEx Lead to set and implement team and service quality and performance objectives and metrics
Assist the OpEx Lead with coaching process owners in applying Lean and Six Sigma techniques, as needed
Support the LifeSight OpEx Lead providing data to enable commercially focused decisions to be made and/or influence both internal and external stakeholders on service delivery, growth, and continuous improvement to streamline and make effective changes to operational service
Support the LifeSight OpEx Lead to create a collaborative team culture which embraces continuous improvement and is comfortable with change
Work with LifeSight OpEx Lead to monitor the implementation of new process improvements and identify and implement refinements as needed
Be prepared to delegate for LifeSight OpEx Lead at trustee meetings and participate in new business presentations, as required
Qualifications
What you’ll bring
Extensive experience of dealing with occupational Defined Contribution pension administration and/or DC Master Trust or Defined Benefit Pensions and proven track record of raising improvement suggestions to deliver change within a business
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or working towards, as minimum)
Demonstrated experience using tools such as JIRA and Confluence to support change delivery and collaboration
Knowledge and understanding of risk management tools such as RPN and use within FMEA and knowledge and understanding of root cause analysis tools within CAPA analysis
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders; ability to communicate concepts and ideas clearly and concisely and build trust and credibility with team members and stakeholders and build relationships and manage expectations
Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to motivate teams to achieve goals and objectives and critical thinking to facilitate more in-depth, holistic and commercially driven discussions and analysis
Broad experience with use of statistics (range, mean, standard deviation) and KPIs related to business improvement metrics
Excellent time management skills and the ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects, ability to oversee and manage team prioritization, and support the removal of escalated blockers
Ability to thrive and drive delivery in a busy, demanding and changing environment.
A process and results-driven problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to lead and inspire teams to identify opportunities for improvement and to implement organizational culture, skills, and routines required to support Operational Excellence
