The role will be responsible for building and enhancing existing physical, logical, and presentation models using BI tools to meet reporting requirements. The role will also design and build reports and dashboards, assisting in development of complex ad hoc queries and analyses.
The role will be part of the global Performance & Reporting Team and will require passion for technical design, development, problem solving, and ability to learn new concepts and best practices.
The Role
- Builds a comprehensive understanding of the applications, systems and infrastructure across the Outsourcing GB line of business.
- Work with the support teams to ensure reliability and automation of production activities related to BI environment. Provide technical support as needed.
- Maintain security model in relation with the BI tool
- Create and maintain detailed documentation throughout the development cycle
- Support user community on BI technology and functionality
- Draws on internal and external practices to establish best practices within the team and ensures that it is shared and understood.
- Continuously develops technical knowledge and is recognised as a key resource across the global team.
- Collaborates with other specialists and/or technical experts to ensure that Outsourcing NNA are delivering to the highest possible standards and that solutions support stakeholder needs and business requirements.
- Works closely with team members to ensure that the correct data is displayed in reporting at all times
- Initiate practices that will increase code quality, performance and security.
- Develops recommendations for continuous improvements initiatives, applying deep subject matter knowledge to provide guidance at all levels on the potential implications of changes.
- Communication with key stakeholders and development teams on technical solutions. Convince and present proposals by way of high-level solutions to end users and/or stakeholders.
- High learning adaptability, demonstrating understanding of the implications of technical issues on business requirements and / or operations.
The Requirements
Knowledge and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s/College Degree would be beneficial and extensive experience in a technology related discipline, such as IT or Engineering or equivalent experience is required
- Knowledge on BI tools including installation, administration, management and Business Intelligence Reporting experience, including design and development
- Experience on creating reports using a BI tool (e.g. Power BI, Oracle OBIEE)
- Experience on data modelling for BI
- Experience developing reports and dashboards
- Knowledge of Oracle databases, UNIX environment, UNIX shell scripts, SQL and PL/SQL
- Experience migrating legacy and/or other BI tool reports
- Experience applying data warehousing and database performance optimisation techniques to structured and unstructured datasets
- Experience of source code control systems – GIT, PVCS
- Strong knowledge on code quality with emphasis on continuous improvement, performance and security
- Knowledge on continuous delivery and continuous integration practices
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced collaborative team environment that has tight deadlines.
- Ability to learn and evaluate new tools, concepts, and challenges quickly.
- Client service focus and flexibility in supporting client requests.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
