Two journeys, one team. Endless Possibilities.

Meet Liz Law and Tamara Leonard: two colleagues whose stories show that growth here is not just possible, it’s encouraged.

Liz’s story: a full-circle journey

Liz began her career in pensions administration over 30 years ago, starting at ground level with no prior knowledge of pensions. Through determination and learning, she worked her way up to team leader. After having her second child, Liz decided to take a career break to focus on her family, working in a local supermarket during that time.

When her children were older, Liz returned to the team at entry level. Despite the time away and changes in legislation and systems, she quickly regained her footing thanks to her experience and the supportive environment.

Over time, Liz progressed from Pensions Administrator to Senior Administrator, then Team Leader and now serves as Administration Manager overseeing teams in the UK, Mumbai and Manila

Her journey reflects a career that moves ambitions to achievement and proves it’s never too late to restart and grow.

"After taking time out to focus on my children, I wasn’t sure if I’d left it too late to come back. I’ll be honest: I was nervous and part of me wondered if I was ‘too old’ to restart my career. But I didn’t need to worry. WTW welcomed me back with open arms, offered real support and never once made me feel judged."

Tamara’s story: growth in action

“I joined in late 2022 with little knowledge of pensions. From day one, I committed to learning everything I could: asking questions, taking courses and focusing on quality.

Within two years, I moved from Administrator to Senior Administrator. I mentor others, take part in pilot programmes and completed the PMI course. A career that moves your knowledge to expertise is what I’ve experienced.

Pension Administration isn’t just a job, it’s a service. The members we work with are someone’s family. Excellence matters because it impacts real lives.”

Tamara joined the Pensions Administration team with little knowledge of pensions or their history. From day one, she committed to learning everything she could by asking questions, taking courses and focusing on quality and excellence. Within her first year, Tamara began guiding new starters on procedures, showing her growing confidence and expertise.

By the end of her second year, Tamara had completed the PMI course, volunteered for pilot programmes and was promoted to Senior Administrator.

Today, she mentors colleagues and continues to take part in development initiatives. Her story is a testament to how curiosity and commitment can open doors to a career that moves knowledge to expertise.

“Take every opportunity to grow. If you don’t have experience with Pensions Administration, don’t hold back on questions, no matter what it is. There is a multitude of resources and support.”
