Description
The Role
As Technical Lead, you will:
Define and drive the technical strategy for Construction All Risks (CAR) and Engineering insurance within Willis, the Corporate Risk Broking division of Willis Towers Watson (WTW);
Manage a select portfolio of large and complex clients across sectors such as renewable energy, infrastructure, heavy industry, and aviation;
Assess risks, gather and analyse risk information, and ensure accurate documentation in our systems.
Lead the development of proposals, RFPs, and other commercial documents;
Ensure the accuracy of policies and contracts, overseeing renewals and safeguarding compliance with internal standards for this line of business;
Place risks in both the Dutch co-insurance market and international markets, and overseeing facultative brokers for reinsurance solutions like collaborative fac or total market approaches.
Mentor team members, strengthening technical capabilities and supporting their professional growth;
Collaborate effectively with global teams, including brokers, claims specialists, risk engineers, and account managers;
Maintain and develop strong relationships with clients, insurers, industry experts, interim insurance managers, lenders insurance advisors, and other key market participants.
Qualifications
The Requirements
A minimum of 15 years of experience in a comparable role, with proven deep expertise in CAR and Engineering insurance;
Extensive experience in the financial and insurance sector, with a focus on engineering lines;
WFT certifications: Basis, Schade Particulier, and Schade Zakelijk;
Strong technical knowledge and/or affinity with construction and engineering risks;
Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships;
Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
A Service-oriented, flexible, and proactive approach;
Strong proficiency in English (written and spoken).
