Technical Insurance Specialist – 6-month contract

Are you an insurance, legal or claims expert passionate about driving positive change and innovation? Then this exciting 6-month contract role may be what you are looking for.

Utilising your insurance, legal or claims expertise in this parental leave contract role, you will be contributing the growth and business targets for WTW across Corporate, Risk and Broking for the Pacific region. From unpacking the policy wordings from insurers to driving new and market leading products, this role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to tackle emerging risks through product innovation.  

 

The role
You will apply your in-depth knowledge of policy contract wordings to:
 

  • Be the subject matter expert across the various classes of insurance policies including property, general liability, motor, construction and financial lines
  • Technical contribution to business initiatives and growth ambitions including participation in tenders
  • Develop, lead and innovate Willis manuscript wordings
  • Review new insurer wordings and drive Willis bespoke endorsements  
  • Draft client manuscript wordings where applicable
  • Engage with insurers, brokers and clients on technical policy interpretation
  • Develop, support and maintain a governance framework for insurance product development
  • Be the subject matter experts for contract reviews and escalation point as appropriate
  • Leverage learnings from claims and performance of contracts to author timely relevant briefing papers and thought product leadership
  • Lead technical training initiatives
     

Qualifications

The Requirements

  • You possess strong market advocacy and client/carrier relationship development
  • You have 3+ years experience in insurance claims, product development or technical advisory, and possess strong technical and analytical capabilities
  • You are an industry specialist and a trusted adviser
  • Degree qualified preferably in Law
  • As a critical thinker, you have attention to detail, and have ownership and team-oriented qualities
  • You have exceptional project management, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Your oral and written communication skills are outstanding
