Careers often take shape where people, business and strategy come together. For Carlo, recruiting is about building those connections with purpose. His perspective offers a closer look at what makes Insurance Consulting and Technology (ICT) such a compelling space to build a career and why now is an exciting time to be part of it.

Inside Carlo’s perspective

I enjoy recruiting because it sits at the intersection of people, business and strategy allowing me to play a role in shaping both people’s careers and the success of the business at the same time. It isn’t just about filling roles. It’s about finding the right talent, positioning the opportunity and connecting individuals to meaningful careers.

It allows me to combine analytical thinking, communication and relationship management in a way that supports both individuals and the organization.

What makes a strong interview

That same balance carries into how I think about interviews. A great interview for insurance consulting and technology roles is one that is structured, relevant and balanced, while delivering both strong assessment and a positive candidate experience.

It starts with a clear and consistent framework where competencies such as technical expertise, problem solving, communication and consulting mindset are defined. This ensures that all candidates are evaluated fairly and comparably, while also giving them a clear understanding of the role.

Using AI the right way

When it comes to AI in the hiring process, I see it as a tool for efficiency and quality, not a shortcut. It’s increasingly normal and acceptable, but only when it’s used as a support rather than a substitute for genuine thinking and communication. AI is now part of how both candidates and recruiters operate, so the expectation isn’t to avoid it, but to use it responsibly and thoughtfully. Authentic communication still stands out and makes the biggest difference.

Why ICT stands out

What makes the ICT team exciting is its global and collaborative setup. It offers the opportunity to work with colleagues and clients around the world, creating strong learning opportunities and cross market exposure. You get to collaborate across disciplines, whether actuarial, data science or technology engineering, which makes the experience both dynamic and varied.

With that in mind, my advice for anyone considering this path is to approach it as more than just a job. ICT brings together consulting, analytics and technology. It offers exposure to global clients, complex problem solving and the chance to work at the forefront of insurance innovation.
