Description

The Health & Benefits (H&B) West Region Leader (RL) is a key member of the H&B Leadership Team. In this role, you will have ultimate accountability for the H&B business and team in the West region, with most of the role’s success metrics tied to P&L management. You will have primary responsibility for revenue growth, direct expense management and profitability, and client and colleague retention contributing to the strategic advancement of H&B’s portfolio and delivery. 

The Role

The RL is effectively the Business Leader of the West Region, responsible for building and executing the annual plan to meet/exceed the expected revenue, margin and operating income results. You will be responsible for the aggregation, mentorship and advancement of the local markets plan while managing the P&L and Target Operating Model. You will also contribute your thought leadership to the overall development of the H&B practice, as well as serve as an executive sponsor in key client relationships, support colleague retention efforts and sponsor new business opportunities.  

You will report and track new business pipeline to meet financial objectives, collaborating with other H&B Region and Community Leaders, Region Geography Leaders, and others to effectively execute the H&B business plan. Your contribution will impact the region’s P&L, our global annual plan and WTW’s brand and market share.   

  • KPI and P&L responsibilities: Develop and/or contribute to annual plan and budget, delivering planned performance and ensuring the region generates revenue, profit, and market share growth in accordance with region’s plan

  • Sales and marketing strategy: Primary accountability for leading and executing a business strategy to gain market share, through new client acquisition and expanding relationships with current clients to meet annual revenue goals in all segments.

    • Collaborate with H&B Office Local Leaders, Geography Leaders, Producers, Senior Sellers, and other sales teams to identify, develop and close sales opportunities

    • Build relationships with internal and external sources to build external WTW brand and maximize the penetration of key target accounts

    • Identify opportunities to cross-sell new products and services

  • Talent management and development: Develop and execute strategic regional staffing plans, including colleague experience (e.g., attraction, retention, colleague engagement and development, goal setting and performance management, and compensation recommendations)

  • Member of WTW Region Leadership Team: Work across segments to meet overall region objectives

  • Client relationship management and delivery: Responsible for all aspects of delivery of WTW products and services for the H&B business. Collaborate with the NA Leaders to develop client strategies to deepen, broaden and build profitable relationships, including the management and deployment of staff to effectively deliver client work

  • Strategy, new product, IC development: Support the development, commercialization, and dissemination of intellectual capital in the region

  • Operations: Ensure appropriate governance and work quality processes are completed on all work delivered. Ensure regional adherence to H&B Excellence Model

  • Team Leader: Identify and lead broad team of senior colleagues including OLLs and other leaders named to deliver on plan

  • Collaboration: Collaborate across Geography and Segments to effectively pursue and deliver on multi-faceted opportunities

Qualifications

The Requirements

  • Strong experience in leading and developing Health & Benefits teams

  • Strong experience successfully leading teams through change

  • Strong experience in developing and managing an active talent pipeline 

  • Proven record of generating revenue with new or existing clients and managing a profitable P&L

  • Deep knowledge and expertise in health and benefits design and management

  • Track record of success in managing and expanding client relationships

  • Superior ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and work across all levels of an organization

  • An executive presence with polished and well-developed written and oral communication skills

  • Interest and aptitude in keeping abreast of latest developments in health care and benefit trends and contributing to the development of new tools and approaches

  • In-depth knowledge of the market, H&B NA capabilities, and broader WTW offerings

  • Results-oriented with ability to effectively deliver on KPIs

  • Ability to reason through various problems that may arise while also having difficult discussions with key stakeholders around the decision

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role.

Compensation
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $250,000 -$350,000 USD per year.

This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
