    Description

    A key leadership role in WTW’s global Marine business, one of the most long-established and respected Marine teams in the market.  Offering significant personal growth opportunity, alongside the expansion and development of the global business.
    Joining a Marine team of 200 in the UK and 650 globally, this will be a rewarding role leading Marine’s marketing strategy.  The candidate will be required to work with key stakeholders to evolve the current strategy and operation, focusing on brand building and awareness, proposition refinement and client insight to accelerate the growth of our global portfolio and bring our solutions and expertise to a wider audience.

    The role holder will be a primary contact point for Marine marketing at both a global and regional level and will therefore need to develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders and develop a good understanding of the business.

    The role will also provide marketing leadership including people management for the Marine marketing team. This will involve providing advice and guidance to the marketing team on the development of marketing strategy and plans to support the growth of these areas of the business.

    This is a hybrid role that requires regular in-office working alongside key Marine stakeholders.  Current Marine standard is 3 days per week in-office.
     

    The Role

    •    Work with marketing team and Marine stakeholders to develop marketing plans that support business and revenue growth priorities
    •    Oversee global marketing planning and budgeting for Marine. 
    •    Provide informed advice and guidance to the marketing team and key stakeholders (including Marine sales and bid functions) on the most appropriate marketing and communication programmes as well as advising on broader areas like research, competitor analysis, digital marketing, event marketing, thought-leadership and investment in 3rd party initiatives   
    •    Identify opportunities to leverage marketing activities globally working with regional marketing leads and business leaders to agree how best to develop and implement these
    •    Working with marketing team to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing activities by analyzing the outcomes using relevant marketing data and analytics; make recommendations
    •    Oversee and advise on the development of marketing campaigns that support the execution of the agreed marketing strategy and identify / agree appropriate KPIs with business stakeholders.
    •    Awareness of the competitive environment of the insurance industry and an understanding of how marketing strategy and plans are positioned within this to help differentiate our product offering
    •    Identify linkages and opportunities to develop cross LOB and Segment marketing programmes that will support pipeline and revenue growth
    •    Develop good working relationships and foster collaboration with colleagues from across the marketing and communications function, including CoE’s (Communications, PR, Digital, Events and Research/Analytics) to coordinate effectively and support the delivery of marketing programmes and activities. 
    •    Manage development of the marketing budgets and manage costs to ensure planned expenditure is met including reporting and analysis of marketing effectiveness and impact
    •    Effective management of direct reports, ensure high performance of team, develop skills 

    Qualifications

    The Requirements

    Essential:   
    •    Strong marketing experience within insurance broking. You will have experience working within insurance broking and have an understanding of and interest in Marine or other specialist insurance industries. 
    •    A good appreciation of delivering marketing in a regulated environment (FCA).
    •    Ability to work both strategically and tactically.
    •    Ability to forge relationships and credibility with senior business leaders and move the marketing agenda globally. 
    •    Tenacity and confidence to obtain key business contributions and keep pace / focus on outputs, holding ownership and direction
    •    Experience in digital marketing and marketing communications across a broad spectrum of offline and online media.
    •    Experience working across multiple geographies and/or globally.
    •    Proven team management experience and ability to inspire as well as lead. 
    •    Self-motivated and organised with ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects simultaneously 
    •    Advanced project management, organisational and communication skills (verbal and written)
    •    A completer finisher mind-set with the drive to deliver projects in a timely manner regardless of any obstacles and challenges
    •    Team player who is flexible and adaptable across a range of tasks.
    •    A good eye for detail and ability to think logically and calmly through projects, as well as issues that present themselves.
    •    Ability to engage, communicate and lead calls/meetings effectively with senior business leaders, drawing on strong marketing and business acumen.
    •    Solid research, writing, analytical and strategic thinking skills.
    •    Change and adaptability/ability to work through ambiguity.
