I joined WTW as an internal recruiter and my role has evolved into a true partnership model. I work closely with hiring leaders across all WTW’s lines of business, focusing on broader actuarial functions, helping them shape hiring strategy, understand market dynamics and attract top talent in a highly competitive landscape. No two days are the same. One moment I might be speaking with a colleague in North Carolina and twenty minutes later I’m on the phone with a candidate in South Africa. Although my role is London-based, it takes me around the world in the search for the best talent.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

It’s the variety of roles I support across WTW’s actuarial landscape, from pensions actuaries and reserving specialists to pricing experts, exposure management professionals, reinsurance analytics consultants and many more. Each area brings its own technical nuance and commercial context, which keeps my work both intellectually stimulating and dynamic.

I also genuinely enjoy working alongside incredibly knowledgeable colleagues who are true experts in their fields, as well as connecting with candidates, learning about their career journeys, understanding their ambitions and guiding them through our recruitment process. This can mean advising where their skills might best align within WTW and helping them see opportunities they may not have initially considered.

There’s something very meaningful about not just filling roles but introducing talented professionals to what it feels like to be part of the WTW community.

What do you think makes a great interview for actuarial positions?

A great actuarial interview balances technical depth with clear communication. Strong candidates demonstrate not only solid analytical ability but also the capacity to explain complex concepts in a straightforward, practical way. Preparation really shows; candidates who understand the business area they’re applying to, reference real examples from their experience and ask thoughtful questions always stand out.

What’s your standpoint on candidates using AI in the process?

AI can be a helpful tool, almost like a “second brain” for structuring thinking, researching topics, or practising interview scenarios, but it should be used with caution. Authenticity is absolutely essential. We want to understand your judgment, problem-solving approach and communication style. Used responsibly, AI can support preparation, but it should never replace genuine capability or personal insight.

What’s the best advice you’d give a candidate applying for our actuarial positions?

Take the time to connect your experience to the specific role you’re applying for. Show curiosity about the business, be ready to discuss both your successes and learnings and don’t shy away from showing enthusiasm; culture and mindset matter just as much as technical skill.

Finally, what’s your one-sentence WTW elevator pitch?

WTW is a place where analytical minds can make a meaningful impact, combining data, expertise and collaboration to solve complex client challenges while offering unique high-profile opportunities and one of the strongest foundational platforms for long‑term career growth.
