Description

We are seeking an experienced individual who can provide consulting support to our clients on various projects and ongoing client mandates. This includes aspects of insurance strategy development and enhancement, product management, industry intelligence and market trend assessments, and customer experience monitoring and solution enhancement. The ideal candidate will be familiar with and have experience in personal insurance products inclusive of travel insurance, embedded credit card insurance, creditor insurance, personal home & auto insurance, and life and health insurance solutions. Exposure to the broader Canadian financial services industry would also be an asset.

WTW’s Affinity practice is unique in the Canadian marketplace.  We focus on the development of new insurance solutions, and optimization of existing insurance solutions for Affinity program sponsors whose core business is not always insurance (e.g. banks and other financial institutions, retailers, associations, hospitality providers, automotive manufacturers, and others). Solutions are positioned to be complementary to the core services or product offerings of these Affinity organizations and the associated strategies that they employ to achieve key objectives of customer/member engagement, optimized customer experience, and revenue and business growth. Through our work, we are constantly challenging the market status quo.

The ideal candidate will be able to support client mandates both independently and as part of a team, involving multiple internal stakeholders and disciplines.  This includes providing oversight of assigned areas of client projects, hands-on involvement in the delivery of individual consulting mandates, and working with various subject matter experts on the team (e.g. product and strategy consultants, research analysts, and actuarial and analytics personnel).

You will also be integrated into a broader team of Affinity consulting professionals where foundational elements of client strategy, customer engagement and operations are complemented by core analytics delivered through the actuarial component of our practice.

The Role

  • A product and strategy consultant who will support our clients
  • Analyze product strategies, product structures and data, as well as assess and monitor market intelligence in the credit card embedded insurance, travel insurance, creditor insurance, and home & auto insurance space, as well as other key personal insurance lines of business

  • Support to senior consulting staff on consulting mandates, including production of reports, presentations, summary analyses, client communications, etc.
  • Develop analysis and recommendations related to client strategy assessments
  • Provide client-facing support on both technical and strategic issues
  • Collaborate with actuarial staff to support broader insights into client issues alongside core product and strategy vision
  • Provide account/project management through oversight of day-to-day client deliverables
  • Identify and implement process and efficiency improvements

Qualifications

The Requirements

  • 5 – 8 or more years of working experience in the insurance field, with experience in some combination of travel, embedded credit card insurance, creditor insurance and/or home & auto insurance.
  • Problem solving, critical thinking and ability to apply technical assets to solve complex business problems
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and written and ability to effectively convey complex insurance matters to clients in layman’s terms
  • Applies a high standard of quality control
  • Works well in teams and seeks assistance / support as appropriate
  • Demonstrates strong listening skills
  • Exhibits positive attitude and demonstrates integrity in all interactions
  • Strong work ethic, including ability to show initiative, manage multiple priorities, honor timely client commitments and manage time efficiently and effectively
  • Skilled in using the Microsoft suite, most particularly with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
