About the Enterprise Risk Management Team:
The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team partners with business leaders, risk champions, and stakeholders to strengthen risk management, governance, and operational resilience across the organization.
About the Role:
To be responsible for embedding, execute and bring into adherence the Enterprise Risk Management Framework for various Geographies under the guidance of Global Risk Team. To institutionalize Risk rhythm with Risk activities reporting into Risk Forums
Roles and Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities
- Ongoing review of the risk registers for all units and assess controls and future mitigation plans
- Lead the various risk forums to discuss the risks for the Country, Segment & Line of Business
- Govern the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and ensure adherence, timely re-visit to ensure alignment with Group and thereafter application to various Geographies
- Work towards the shaping and adherence to the Risk Appetite of the organisation and ensure alignment with Group
- Liaising with Group Risk team to highlight India Centre and/or Geography risks and assessments
- Regularly assess the changes in the market / industry / economic / political environment and understand their impact on the organisation. Share this with the Risk Champions at various Geographies and with the Group Risk team
- Ongoing reporting on various risks to the Business and Function Leaders of different Geographies
- Monitor incidents and severity assessment - assist in analysing identified incidents and work with the concerned Business unit on corrective action plans, to avoid similar incidents that may have a financial, regulatory and/or operational risk to the Organisation
- Work with Global Risk team on Business and Enterprise Risk Management projects at functional and organisation level
- Work with Global Risk team on New Product Process thereby owning end to end responsibility of follow-up for documentation, scheduling of review meetings and seeking appropriate approvals
- Discuss promptly with the Business unit Manager any compliance or regulatory risks arising in the unit; report the issue in the appropriate log/ database; and agree the corrective action to be taken including responsibility, timelines and review date
- Provide guidance and advice to relevant internal stakeholders and assist them with the interpretation and implementation of policies and framework requirements to ensure the management of their risks is as per the Group policies, controls and standards
- Develop a risk plan which reflects the risk profile of that Business unit; undertake own sampling and conduct reviews, where appropriate; monitor and report progress against the plan; to be covered as part of Risk Owner Engagement Meeting and Enterprise Risk Management and Business Synergy Meeting
- Deliver basic and advanced risk training to Risk Champions, as per their requirements
- Engage in Business Review meetings (If any), and share ideas on improvement and any best practice sharing that would help minimise the risk
- Work with Risk Champions to spread awareness in their respective units on risks reported via Risk Read Across and Risk, Issue & Event Reporting initiatives
- Establish good rapport and coordination with Global Enterprise Risk Management team by supporting and working closely on various Business and Enterprise Risk Management projects assigned to you
- Establish reporting around Risk Acceptance, Risk Exception etc.
Assist with regulatory issues
- Identify all laws/regulations that are applicable to various geographies in collaboration with Compliance Business Partners and/or Legal
- Maintain forward looking approach for all global changes, link outside changes with existing processes & impact thereon
Report outcomes
- Provide regular updates to Global Risk Team on the monthly and quarterly engagements with the Business and summarise the outcomes with the responsibilities of individuals. Updates to cover:
- Actions taken to manage all the risks
- Serious or persistent issues
- Results of monitoring activity, including sampling
- Regulatory / Economical / Political developments and issues

Other relevant matters
- Discuss all legal and regulatory risks with Global Risk team and report in the appropriate database/log/tool at Enterprise level
- Attend Business Executive meetings, which would have discussion on transitions, process improvements, material changes, way forward etc.
- Liaise with and assist the Compliance & Internal Controls System (ICS) Monitoring team members to help understand the risks within the organisation and the timely reporting of them too, including any policy non-adherence
Manage performance
- Create own quarterly action plans to deliver the annual goals and objectives agreed with the Manager and Global Risk team; report on own progress
Manage internal relationships
- Maintain positive relationships with Business and Function Heads and all other colleagues to assist the interface between risk and the operations

Foster close relationships with Global Risk team and other stakeholders, including Group Legal, Group Risk, Group Compliance and Group Internal Audit
Communications and Relationships
- With Enterprise Risk Management team and stakeholders at India Centre, and ones travelling to India Centre
- With the Group Risk team to represent India Centre

Knowledge/Experience:
- Prior Risk Management experience required of minimum 2 years (understand and implementation of the Risk framework)
- Prior Compliance/Audit/Quality/Project Management experience would be an added advantage
- Good regulatory and corporate governance knowledge/understanding required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any stream
- Institute of Risk Management (IRM) Level 1 or equivalent Risk Certification will be an added advantage
Experience required
- 3-5 years of experience in insurance / financial services / Global Capability Centers, with at least 2 years of experience in risk management; independently managing business reviews / reporting forums with good understanding of Risk Management frameworks
