Description

The Aviation Claim Analyst at WTW serves as a trusted resource for clients, applying their expertise to positively influence claim outcomes and insurance recoveries. Claim Analysts are responsible for the quality and consistency of all claim products and services delivered within their area of expertise and act as client-facing consultants. They partner closely with regional business and industry leadership to support growth, drive innovation, and ensure execution of WTW’s business strategy.

The Role

This is a national role. The Aviation Claim Analyst will be responsible for the oversight, direction, and overall management of claim activity for assigned clients. This position requires strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, significant administrative work, and ongoing coordination across internal and external partners.

Key duties and responsibilities include, without limitation:

General

  • Assist in the management of claims, with a particular focus on Aviation claims
  • Analyze coverage considering relevant facts, contractual issues, and carrier responses to ensure proper interpretation and application
  • Document and communicate claim activity to clients in a timely and effective manner
  • Influence appropriate settlement authority and maximize insurance recoveries for clients
  • Partner with clients’ internal teams and external counsel to develop and pursue effective, cost‑efficient litigation strategies
  • Oversee authorization and issuance of indemnity and expense payments by carriers
  • Prepare dashboards and reports related to claim analytics and activity
  • Manage, organize, and retain insurance claims records, submissions, and correspondence
  • Liaise between internal teams, insurance carriers, vendors, and defense counsel to support the day‑to‑day administration of claims
  • Respond to requests for information promptly, accurately, and professionally

Leadership

  • Promote and foster WTW culture and values
  • Manage the appropriate level of resources across the assigned territory
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate service requests with other WTW partners
  • Participate in meetings and contribute ideas and strategies that strengthen the practice
  • Serve as a strong external presence through speaking engagements, articles, and professional associations
  • Provide informal technical guidance, coaching, and support to colleagues

Technical

  • Ensure quality and consistency in delivering high‑level claim services
  • Engage WTW’s global network of professionals as needed
  • Utilize systems and tools appropriately and effectively
  • Collaborate with others to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and best practices
  • Monitor the performance of vendor partners
  • Directly handle complex cases, special requests, and key client relationships
  • Stay current on emerging claim issues, trends, and market developments

Growth and Retention

  • Support new business development through sales presentations and RFP responses
  • Participate in strategic large‑client team meetings as required
  • Manage the quality and appropriateness of client service agreements
  • Partner with WTW brokerage executives to ensure service delivery alignment
  • Maintain direct, trusted relationships with key clients

Qualifications

The Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Post‑secondary education preferred
  • We welcome candidates without direct insurance or claims backgrounds who can demonstrate strong experience in client management, project or program management, stakeholder engagement, and operational coordination
  • Prior claims experience or insurance industry knowledge is an asset but not required
  • Aviation experience is an asset
  • Experience managing multiple workstreams, deadlines, and detailed administrative processes in a fast‑paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate across diverse stakeholders and communicate effectively with clients, partners, and internal teams
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
  • Proven ability to multitask, adapt to change, and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to deliver efficient, timely, and high‑quality service to internal and external clients

Financial Knowledge

  • Ability to understand and work with financial concepts, figures, and reports
  • Experience conducting financial or business analysis and preparing reports is preferred

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve complex problems and navigate ambiguity
  • Strong analytical and decision‑making skills, with the ability to draw on input from multiple stakeholders and make sound recommendations

Other

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Data analytics skills required
  • Hybrid role (office/remote); office location flexible
  • Insurance Brokerage License required within 90 days of joining 

 

Compensation

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $65,000 CAD -$90,000 CAD per year.

This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
