The Role

DUTIES:

  • Senior Associate within Health & Benefits Line of Business with Willis Towers Watson US LLC in New York, New York.     

  • Leverage in-depth knowledge of the industry, key trends and available external solutions to make recommendations to large, complex clients regarding the design and management on a full array of health and benefits programs. 

  • Play a lead role in the design/management of group medical, dental, disability and time off plans for large, complex clients, including benefit plan analysis, design, budget development,  cost savings and funding strategies; vendor procurement, negotiation and optimization; and incorporation of specialized health management, absence and disability management, pharmacy, data analytics and compliance strategies.

  • Develop client strategies and review project plans for appropriate client context

  • Serve as lead project manager and day to day contact for clients; materially contribute to project plan creation and lead the team on delivery; ensure progress against established objectives, budgets, timelines, deliverables and quality standards.

  • Support the generation of new business by participating in prospecting opportunities with new clients as part of a broader team.

  • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams.

  • Review analytical work, mentor and train junior colleagues on how best to leverage tools, benchmarking, surveys and COE resources.

  • Onboard new junior and senior colleagues to the team to get them up to speed on the client profile and projects the team supports

  • Demonstrate strong analytical, creative and integrative skills

Qualifications

The Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:                       

  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Human Resource Management, Organizational Psychology, Psychology or a related field.plus three (3) years of experience in a related Benefits Consulting role.

  • Prior experience conducting health & welfare benefit strategy and design, benefit benchmarking, vendor management, and employee communications.

  • Prior experience applying working knowledge of healthcare financials, including pricing/contribution theory, risk identification and Incurred but Not Reported (IBNR) claim reserves.

  • Prior experience supporting clients with broad HR projects, including total rewards optimization, user acceptance testing, fielding client questions from client finance team, managing open enrollment processes, and handling ad hoc employee requests. 

  • Prior experience with design/management of health and welfare plans gained in a consulting or brokerage environment or similar experience in a consultative role gained at a carrier or vendor.

  • Prior project management experience, including developing project plans and ensuring progress against established goals, timelines and quality standards.

  • Prior experience assessing the impact of regulatory changes on employee benefits and educating clients on local, state and federal compliance requirements.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
