Summary

As a Senior Technical Scrum Master, you will be the backbone of our high-stakes engineering teams. You will integrate deep Agile expertise with a solid understanding of software architecture to streamline delivery. Your goal is to foster a culture of technical discipline (CI/CD, TDD, DevOps) while mentoring the team toward self-governance and peak performance.

Role

Technical Leadership & Engineering Flow

  • Engineering Excellence: Partner with Tech Leads to advocate for and implement modern engineering practices.
  • Bottleneck Identification: Use your technical background to identify systemic issues in the codebase or infrastructure that hinder velocity.
  • DORA Metrics Management: Move beyond simple story points. Track and optimize DORA metrics.

Advanced Facilitation & Scaling

  • Facilitation: Lead all Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives. Ensure they are productive and time boxed.
  • Impediment Removal: Proactively identify and eliminate "blockers" (technical, social, or organizational) that prevent the team from meeting Sprint Goals.
  • Team Coaching: Mentor the team in self-management and cross-functionality. Help them navigate internal conflicts and improve their "Definition of Done."
  • Product Owner Support: Assist the Product Owner with backlog refinement, ensuring user stories are clear, concise, and prioritized.
  • Complex Ceremony Leadership: Facilitate all Scrum events for multi-functional, distributed teams, ensuring high-quality outputs and clear alignment with the product roadmap.
  • Cross-Team Synchronization: Lead or sync in a scaled environment to manage cross-team dependencies and mitigate risks before they impact delivery.

Strategic Coaching & Mentorship

  • Servant Leadership: Coach developers, Product Owners, and stakeholders on the "why" behind Agile, shifting the focus from "doing Agile" to "being Agile."
  • Conflict Resolution: Mediate complex technical disputes within the team, ensuring architectural decisions are made collaboratively and transparently.

Requirements

  • 10-15 years in the software industry, with at least 5+ years acting as a dedicated Scrum Master in a technical environment.
  • A background as a Software Engineer or Systems Architect is highly preferred. You must be able to understand technical discussions regarding APIs, Microservices, and Cloud infrastructure.
  • Certifications:
    • Required: PSM II/III or CSM.
    • Preferred: SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), PMP-ACP, or an AWS/Azure Cloud Practitioner certification.
  • Tools: Expert-level proficiency in Jira/Confluence (including advanced JQL and automation), Miro/Mural, and familiarity with GitHub/GitLab workflows.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
