A great career is about more than a job title. It's about finding a place where you can keep learning, tackle challenges and work alongside people who genuinely want to see you succeed.

For the leaders of our Health & Benefits (H&B) Metro New York team, that's exactly what keeps them here. Whether they're helping clients through complex healthcare challenges or helping colleagues navigate career opportunities, they share a common belief: success is built together.

We spoke to Robyn Silk, Ryan Sweeney and Kyle Arbadji about what makes the team unique, how careers evolve within the business and why so many professionals choose to progress here.

A team built on expertise

In an industry that continues to evolve, clients need both technical expertise and teams that can solve challenges, adapt quickly and bring together different perspectives. According to the leadership team, that's where H&B Metro New York stands out.

The team combines deep consulting, financial, analytical and client service expertise with a culture that encourages knowledge-sharing and collaboration across disciplines.

As Robyn explains: "Everyone does their best work and is there for one another. They share what they know and help each other succeed."

Kyle highlights the value of the diverse experiences and viewpoints: "Our success comes from the depth of our team. Everyone brings unique perspectives that help us adapt to rapid changes and bring the best ideas to our clients."

Career growth isn't one-size-fits-all

One of the recurring themes throughout the conversation was opportunity.

Progression within H&B Metro New York is often shaped by individual interests, ambitions and strengths. Leaders actively encourage colleagues to explore different areas of the business, develop new skills and take ownership of their paths.

For Ryan, that's one of the biggest reasons to stay:

"The opportunities here are what you make of them. You can pursue what you’re passionate about and create a career path that works for you."

Robyn points to another important aspect of the culture, which is embracing change:

"We treat it as an opportunity. We don't put boundaries around career progression and our managers are constantly helping people build new skills and expand their vision."

Kyle's own journey reflects that philosophy. Having joined WTW as an entry-level analyst, he has progressed through multiple roles while continuously expanding his responsibilities and leadership experience.

"Every role has taught me something new. New opportunities have allowed me to take on more responsibility and develop as a leader" , he shares.

A culture that challenges you

For the H&B Metro New York leadership team, high performance and partnership go hand in hand.

Team members are encouraged to take initiative and continuously learn, while also knowing there is a network of colleagues willing to help along the way.

When asked to describe the team in one word, Kyle's answer was immediate:

"Fun. We have a lot of fun working as a team and challenging each other to do our best work in an encouraging and light-hearted environment."

That sense of connection extends beyond project work:

"Many of my colleagues are my close friends. Being in the office gives us a chance to learn from each other, stay connected and lift each other up."

Combined with the team's hybrid working model, it creates an environment where you can thrive and build important relationships along the way.

Making a difference through client work

The team partners with large employers across a broad range of healthcare and benefits challenges, helping clients adapt to changing market conditions and make informed decisions that support their people and businesses.

As healthcare continues to change, so do the challenges clients face. According to Kyle, that creates exciting opportunities for professionals who enjoy learning and adapting.

He mentions, "healthcare today looks very different than it did eight years ago when I started. That's why having the best and brightest talent on our team is so important to keeping up with the immense challenges that employers face."

While career journeys may vary, the leadership team consistently highlighted a few qualities that help candidates thrive here: curiosity, initiative, relationship-building skills and a willingness to learn.

Ryan encourages new joiners to ask questions, stay curious and look for opportunities to contribute.

As for Robyn, preparation and follow-through remain essential ingredients for long-term success.

Together, these qualities help create a culture where people are empowered to do their best work together and deliver the best results for clients every day.
