WTW provides insurance consulting services to insurers, which leverages a suite of software and technology solutions operated by actuarial, financial reporting and business support teams. The increased reliance and focus on technology in delivering these services has created a role for an Automation Technology Specialist to join our business to help our clients deploy more advanced solutions to solve their business problems. We run a dedicated proposition that operates in the Finance Transformation / Business Process Excellence space – this is the team we are looking into recruit into in order to help our clients use technology and leading-edge software to optimise their processes and transform their businesses.

The role is located in Hong Kong, which is where our client-facing consulting team operates from.

As an Automation Technology Specialist in our team, you will be responsible for leading and delivering automation implementation projects to solve our clients’ business problems.

In performing this role, you will work with actuarial consultants to understand our clients’ business processes and also enjoy a deep relationship and open communication with WTW’s wider Technology Business, acting as the liaison between the business and software developers. You will be innovative and have a passion for learning how to utilise your skills in unique business applications, challenging how we think and improving the capabilities of our team, alongside liaising with the Technology Business to provide feedback to improve and deepen our partnership. Responsibilities

  • Be a technical authority in solution design and integration, taking a key role in driving forward our software transformation projects with our clients. 
  • Design and build interactive demos of WTW software, integrating them with external systems using your expertise in scripting (Python). 
  • Manage client-appointed external integration partners, ensuring project success, and collaborate with consulting teams to develop impactful workflows and client-facing presentations. 
  • Undertake research and development into new technologies, tools and processes to drive innovative solutions for enhancing the way we work and improve the service we deliver to our clients. 
  • Improve the architecture, deployment and operations practices within the team to introduce and adopt industry standards for many topics including automation, compliance and reporting. 
  • Collaborate with software development teams to analyze client feedback, identify improvement opportunities, and implement software enhancements that directly address client pain points and feature requests.

Qualifications

The Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or a related field
  • 8-10 years of technology experience, of which at least 3-5 years of experience is on the delivery of transformation and automation projects in the insurance / financial services industry
  • At least 1 year of experience in leading or managing an automation delivery project
  • Python scripting skills is a must-have and will be assessed as part of the interview process.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work alongside non-technical teams.
  • Experience in gathering business requirements and translating them into functional design specifications
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work with limited supervision
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to understand business applications and develop innovative technical solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to deliver simple and innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Experience with SQL and ODBC
  • Experience with an automation software package (Unify, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, UiPath, PEGA, Power Automate, Alteryx)
