We are currently seeking an Account Executive within our Richard Oliver Underwriting Managers business to join the Australasian team.
Richard Oliver Underwriting Management distributes products and services to Willis Towers Watson and third-party brokers throughout Australia. It is also responsible for the development and management of products, facilities and platforms for the Corporate Risk and Broking (CRB) business in Australia.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the organisation and help deliver on our underwriting responsibilities across our Crime, Accident & Health and Specialist Liabilities portfolio (which includes general liability, CPI and recall insurances). The role will involve supporting underwriting functions for the abovementioned classes of business. The diverse nature of the role serves is an exciting opportunity for an individual wanting to expand their skill set.
The Role
- Assist with new business and renewal process including drafting of terms, binding cover and producing policy documentation as well as other administrative duties as requested by the Account Directors.
- Assist with the management of financial obligations particularly managing debtors to ensure premiums are received within the timeframes required for settlement to insurers
- Manage company profile with brokers and insurers by identifying and maintaining strategic relationships in all key markets.
- In liaison with your Manager and using data from your Continuing Professional Development Plan identify development and plan activities to meet these needs during your first 12 months.
- Ensuring quality of underwriting, including adherence to any delegated authority, underwriting procedures and policy administration
- Ensure all documentation is prepared in accordance with company service and compliance procedures
- Contribute to the team to ensure compliance with all specified business management processes
The Requirements
- 3 to 4 business cycles years gained in General Insurance
- Good knowledge and understanding of the Insurance industry and general insurance
- Strong communication and ‘people skills’ and ability to build strong relationships with key decision-makers internally and externally.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with initiative, drive and enthusiasm. Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple stakeholders.
- A team player with the ability to demonstrate credibility and gain trust.
- Tier 1 Insurance qualification (or currently working towards this)
