Description
Join as an Account Executive and become a trusted advisor to some of the UK's most prominent public sector organisations. Combining client relationship management, technical insurance expertise and strategic programme delivery, you will help clients manage risk, protect their organisations and achieve their objectives.
Working within a collaborative team of Account Directors, Practice Leaders, Client Service Executives (CSEs) and specialist colleagues, you will support the delivery of innovative insurance and risk management programmes for public sector, government and defence-related clients, as well as strategic advisory assignments.

Deliver exceptional client service and support client retention.
Develop trusted relationships with clients, insurers and internal specialist teams.
Support the placement and management of complex insurance programmes.
Contribute to revenue growth, advisory development and framework opportunities.
Build technical expertise across public sector risk disciplines.
Support the development of junior colleagues and help create a sustainable future operating model for PSP.
The Role
Client Relationship Management
Act as day-to-day relationship lead for allocated clients and prospects.
Develop strong working relationships with client stakeholders and internal stakeholders.
Understand client business operations, governance structures and risk exposures.
Attend client meetings, stewardship reviews and renewal presentations.
Support Account Directors and Practice Leaders in strategic client planning.
Identify opportunities to improve client outcomes and service delivery.
Maintain a detailed understanding of client objectives, budgets and procurement considerations.
Insurance Programme Management
Support the design, placement and ongoing management of complex insurance programmes across property, casualty, motor fleet, professional indemnity, cyber, environmental liability, medical malpractice, directors and officers' liability, construction/project risks, crime and financial lines.
Develop renewal strategies and timetables.
Review market submissions, presentations, policy wordings and insurer quotations.
Support insurer negotiations and programme design recommendations.
Identify coverage gaps, wording issues and programme enhancement opportunities.
Prepare insurance specifications and renewal reports.
Support claims trend analysis and use this insight to inform renewal strategy.
Advisory Services Support
A key element of the future PSP model is the continued development of advisory work. The Account Executive will support delivery of advisory projects and develop increasing advisory capability over time.
Assist with risk reviews, programme assessments and client advisory reports.
Contribute to tender responses, procurement exercises and framework submissions.
Prepare research, benchmarking, market analysis and presentation materials.
Work with specialist teams across WTW to develop practical and innovative solutions for clients.
Public Sector Specialism
Develop strong knowledge of central government, local authorities, education, blue light services, defence, public infrastructure, housing and transport.
Public procurement processes and framework agreements.
Government governance requirements and public accountability obligations.
Contractual risk allocation and public sector insurance market dynamics.
The expectations of public sector clients in relation to stewardship, transparency, service delivery and value for money.
Framework and Tender Activity
Support YPO framework opportunities and Crown Commercial Service (CCS) opportunities.
Support regional, local authority and central government procurement exercises.
Assist with major tender submissions, bid documentation and market/competitor research.
Contribute to framework management activities and development of reusable PSP bid material.
Revenue Growth and Business Development
Identify opportunities for cross-selling, upselling and advisory development.
Support prospecting activity, pipeline management and client development planning.
Develop relationships with key insurer partners.
Participate in new business presentations and contribute to PSP growth objectives.
Operational Excellence
Ensure compliance with WTW governance requirements and relevant regulatory obligations.
Maintain accurate financial, revenue and client records.
Support billing, forecasting and budgeting processes.
Ensure timely completion of mandatory systems and process requirements.
Contribute to audit readiness, quality assurance activity and operational consistency across the practice.
Data, MI and Analytics
The successful candidate should be comfortable working with management information and data-driven decision making, including use of business intelligence tools where appropriate.
Monitor revenue performance, renewal progress and client KPIs.
Review placement metrics and portfolio trends.
Support management reporting and identify opportunities for service improvement.
Team and Leadership Contribution
Support and mentor CSE colleagues, helping to build technical confidence and resilience within the wider team.
Share technical knowledge and contribute to training initiatives.
Support succession planning activity and the development of future Account Directors.
Promote collaboration across PSP, Wales & West and specialist teams.
Contribute positively to team culture, morale and visible leadership during periods of change.
Qualifications

Strategic Importance of the Role
This position is a critical investment hire within the Public Sector Practice. The role supports succession planning, future advisory growth, development of the next generation of Account Directors and increased resilience across the PSP operating model.
The Account Executive will play a significant role in supporting strategic clients across government, defence, infrastructure and framework-related opportunities, while helping ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of the practice.
