Description

Working within the Financial, Professional and Executive Risks (FINEX) team in Melbourne, the successful candidate will be responsible for servicing and growing an established portfolio of clients. As part of a vibrant and high-performing team, the role will involve all aspects of client servicing, insurance market engagement and negotiation, and collaboration with colleagues across WTW to deliver integrated client solutions. 

The Role

  • Take ownership of portfolio growth by identifying opportunities to expand client programs, increase revenue, improve client retention, and secure new business opportunities. 

  • Review clients’ risk management and insurance objectives to deliver high-quality service and risk solutions. 

  • Collaborate across WTW teams to design, deliver and manage small-medium and complex insurance programs. 

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers and internal stakeholders to support long-term business growth. 

  • Leverage the full breadth of WTW’s capabilities and specialist expertise to identify opportunities and provide value-added solutions to clients. 

  • Act as a FINEX subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and market insights to both clients and colleagues. 

  • Maximise revenue from the existing client portfolio through proactive client engagement, profitability analysis, and optimisation of available facilities and market solutions. 

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by leveraging existing networks and developing new professional relationships. 

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive client information within WTW systems, databases and reporting tools. 

  • Contribute to new business tenders by preparing content, supporting strategy development, and representing FINEX as part of client presentations and pitch teams. 

  • Promote the WTW brand and FINEX proposition within the insurance industry, professional networks and broader business community. 

  • Prepare high-quality client and insurer documentation, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in all communications.

  • Ensure all documentation and client activities comply with company policies, service standards, regulatory requirements and compliance procedures. 

  • Manage the timely and accurate production and processing of quotations, reports, invoices, premium calculations, endorsements and policy adjustments. 

  • Support effective credit control processes, including premium funding discussions, debtor management and adherence to insurer placement requirements. 

  • Oversee claims management activities to ensure agreed service standards are met

  • Maintain a strong understanding of market developments, insurer appetite, emerging risks and industry trends to provide informed advice to clients. 

  • Support the continued growth of the Melbourne FINEX business through active participation in strategic initiatives, market engagement and business development activities

Qualifications

The Requirements

 

  • A minimum of five years' experience in insurance broking, underwriting, or legal practice, with expertise in Financial Lines and Professional Risks insurance.

  • Proven ability to assess client needs, negotiate with insurers, and deliver effective risk and insurance solutions.

  • Strong client focus and relationship management skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, insurers, and colleagues.

  • Sound commercial acumen and understanding of the business environment.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with a proactive approach to work.

  • Professional, collaborative, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Tier 1 Insurance Broking qualification, or willingness to obtain it.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Growth mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and contribute to business development.
