Overview

This role is responsible for the administrative infrastructure supporting the claims team, including intake, FNOL processing, claim assignment, and ongoing file maintenance. It involves managing claim setup and updates within internal systems (IR/SSC), as well as maintaining and reconciling tracking databases to ensure accuracy and visibility across the team. The position plays a critical role in keeping claims organized, accessible, and moving forward efficiently.

 

Location: Remote – This position is open to candidates residing anywhere within the United States.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Support claims team by managing, reporting, and coordinating the onboarding process for new claims using standard materials and processes.

  • Monitoring each claim and following up with various insurers and defense counsel to help client and claims consultants move the claim toward resolution.

  • Independently assess claim processing status, and thereby assign internal diary dates for next steps in claims processing.

  • Lead the prompting for information or moving of information, such as litigation updates, between client/defense counsel and insurer.

  • Communicating comfortably (conversing with, or written correspondence) to insurance claims examiners, insurance companies’ counsel, clients and their defense counsel about the claim status, or as instructed by claims consultants.

  • Being the initial point of contact for general inquiries, effectively respond to, or efficiently escalate to appropriate claims member.

  • Assist claims consultants by organizing and processing claim information and managing the coordination of conference calls as needed.

  • Organize data for use in peer benchmarking claims.

  • Become lead liaison between the Claims Team and the Tech Team to spearhead modifications, and upgrade ideas to company computer systems and processes

  • Track claims by entering new claim information into agency management system and input updated claim information and documentation into agency management system accurately and completely.

  • Perform other special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of insurance industry experience, with demonstrated knowledge of insurance coverage concepts. 

  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and to be flexible with ever-changing priorities and deadlines. 

  • Works well with others in a fast-paced environment and be responsive to co-workers and colleagues. 

  • Persistence and creativity in resolving unique challenges; tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to resolve difficult situations with both internal and external clients.

  • Ability to think critically; anticipate, identify and develop solutions to problems.

  • Results oriented, with strong client service emphasis and focus.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office as well as the use of carrier claims portals. Ability to learn and implement other programs quickly and efficiently. 

  • Strong organizational skills, thoroughness and attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Active participation as a team member, suggesting improvements in processes and procedures and ways to make the organization better.

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience with professional liability, cyber, technology E&O, management liability, marine, or other complex commercial lines strongly preferred. 

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registration:

Property and Casualty Insurance License is required (required or to be obtained within 3 months of hire).

 

 

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role.

 

Compensation

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $79,700–$124,500 USD annually. 

This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
