Public Sector Practice Leader

As Public Sector Practice Leader, you will lead a strategically important part of our business, shape the future of our Public Sector practice and help clients navigate an increasingly complex operating environment. This role requires demonstrable experience of working with and/or within the UK public sector, with a strong understanding of the sector's governance, procurement, stakeholder and risk landscape. It is a highly visible leadership role that combines market influence, client leadership, commercial growth and people development. You will set the strategic direction for the practice, champion collaboration across WTW and inspire teams to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients and colleagues alike.

Working closely with senior leaders across the business, you will identify opportunities to strengthen our market position, deepen client relationships and create innovative solutions that address the evolving needs of public sector organisations.

The Public Sector team is based in our Bristol office. The successful candidate will be expected to travel to Bristol on a weekly basis to spend regular time with the team, support colleague development, drive collaboration and maintain momentum across client, market and growth activity.

• Define and execute the strategic direction of WTW's Public Sector Practice, ensuring sustainable growth and market leadership.

• Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing team, fostering an inclusive culture, strong succession planning and colleague development.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior public sector stakeholders, leveraging sector expertise to strengthen WTW's market position.
• Drive client retention, strategic account growth and new business acquisition across the Public Sector market.
• Develop innovative client propositions by combining public sector insight with WTW's broader capabilities and expertise.
• Oversee the operational, financial, governance and regulatory performance of the practice, ensuring excellent client outcomes.
• Act as a visible ambassador for WTW through industry engagement, thought leadership and representation across the Public Sector community.

What you’ll bring

• Significant experience working with and/or advising UK public sector organisations, with deep sector credibility and market insight.
• A proven track record of leading high-performing businesses, delivering growth and driving strategic change.
• Strong commercial acumen, with experience developing client propositions and identifying new market opportunities.
• The ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior stakeholders across client, partner and industry networks.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams, with a passion for coaching and succession planning.
• A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to operate effectively across a complex, matrixed organisation.
• A willingness to travel regularly to Bristol to lead and engage with the Public Sector team.
