Description
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Workers' Compensation professional to join WTW's Workplace Risk Practice, Australia's leading provider of strategic workplace risk services to many of the country's largest organisations.
This is a highly visible, client-facing consulting role where you'll take ownership of your own portfolio, partner with a diverse range of clients, and provide strategic advice on workers' compensation policy, premium management, claims performance, and workplace risk outcomes.
Working as part of a national team of more than 60 Workplace Risk specialists, you'll enjoy the autonomy to manage client relationships while benefiting from the expertise, support, and collaboration of one of the most experienced workplace risk teams in Australia. You'll have the opportunity to work with national clients, build your consulting capability, and contribute to the growth of a market-leading practice.
As WTW continues to expand its Workplace Risk presence across Australia, this role also presents an opportunity to help grow our footprint in Tasmania while remaining fully supported by an established national team. Over time, there may be opportunities to contribute to the future growth and development of the practice in the region.
The Role
As an Account Manager within our Workplace Risk Practice, you will:
- Manage a portfolio of national and mid-market clients, delivering high-quality workers' compensation consulting services
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients across policy, premium, claims, injury management, and workplace risk matters
- Project manage client workplace risk programs, ensuring successful implementation and strong client outcomes
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to support premium optimisation and improved claims performance
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to long-term retention and growth
- Prepare client reports, presentations, and reviews that clearly communicate outcomes and opportunities
- Partner closely with Insurance Brokers, providing technical expertise and workers' compensation guidance
- Support business development initiatives by identifying opportunities to expand services with existing and prospective clients
- Contribute to tender submissions, proposals, and client presentations
- Collaborate with colleagues nationally, sharing knowledge and supporting team success
There will be opportunities to travel nationally to meet clients and strengthen relationships, while enjoying the flexibility of a predominantly remote working arrangement.
Qualifications
We're looking for a motivated, client-focused professional who enjoys building relationships and delivering practical solutions.
You will bring:
- Experience within Workers' Compensation, Workplace Risk, Insurance, WorkCover or a related advisory environment
- Experience managing client portfolios and building trusted relationships with stakeholders
- Exposure to workers' compensation policy and premium management, including an understanding of key premium drivers
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients and colleagues
- A consultative approach and the ability to translate technical information into practical advice
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- A proactive, self-driven mindset and the ability to work independently while remaining connected to a broader team
- Experience working with national clients or across multiple jurisdictions is highly regarded, but not essential
- Business development experience or a desire to contribute to growth opportunities will be viewed favourably
Technical expertise in workers' compensation legislation and scheme management is advantageous; however, we value curiosity, capability, and a willingness to learn. Our team embraces a "learn as you go" culture and supports ongoing professional development.
