From radio studios to the heart of internal communications, Javier Mariles’ career journey is all about versatility, connection, and balance.
Based in Mexico City, Javier is a Communications Specialist at the Latin America Regional Delivery Hub — and someone whose voice and vision have left a mark far beyond the page.
A career shaped by curiosity and creativity
Javier’s path into communications began in the media. “I started in radio, co-producing a national program in Mexico”, he shares.
That experience laid the foundation for his love of storytelling, but he quickly realized he wanted something more stable and strategic. “That’s what drew me to corporate communications — the chance to support internal teams, understand business needs, and create meaningful content that helps people stay informed and engaged”.
From managing internal communications to leading communication strategies at global companies, Javier developed a well-rounded career around public relations, advertising, marketing, corporate communications, and media.
In 2023, when he came across a role at WTW, he knew it was the right thing to do.

This culture of support is especially meaningful in his role, where building relationships across departments is essential. “In communications, knowing people is key. And here, people are incredibly approachable and willing to participate in our campaigns and initiatives.”
Working closely with many colleagues in the Communications teams, Javier has proven himself to be a great team player and an exceptional person.
Finding balance outside the screen
Outside of work, Javier finds joy and energy through physical activity and spending time with family. “I’ve always been passionate about sports — I grew up playing football and recently got back into taekwondo”, he says.
Thanks to WTW’s flexible work style, he’s been able to reconnect with these hobbies. “It gives me energy and keeps me balanced.”
He also organizes football games with colleagues from other departments — another way he stays connected while promoting wellness. And when he’s not on the pitch, you’ll probably find him at the movies or building a puzzle while listening to music.
“These small rituals help me recharge, and I discovered how much I enjoy them during one of the most challenging times — the pandemic,” he says.
