At WTW, fostering an environment where employees can grow both professionally and personally is at the heart of our culture. Two of our colleagues, Katherine Dimakis from Australia and Inge from Denmark, share their journeys, insights, and experiences on how WTW has supported them in achieving work-life balance, career growth, and personal fulfillment.

Katherine’s story: finding balance through flexibility

"WTW’s flexibility has been instrumental in helping me balance my work and personal commitments," says Katherine Dimakis, who has been with the company for 17 years. As part of the Health and Benefits team in Australia, she manages the client service, claims, and operations team.

With a young daughter at home, Katherine appreciates the ability to adjust her work hours and work remotely when needed. "It allows me to be more present for my family while still focusing on my career. I also have time to maintain a healthy lifestyle with running and yoga, which helps me stay energized and productive."

WTW has played a key role in Katherine’s professional growth as well. "I’ve had access to training programs, mentorship, and business coaching, which have helped me develop in my role while still prioritizing my family," she shares. "Having flexibility in my schedule means I don’t have to choose between career success and being there for my daughter."

Katherine credits WTW’s inclusive culture for creating an environment where all colleagues can truly thrive. "The company actively promotes inclusion through various initiatives. The flexible work arrangements, mentorship opportunities, and leadership support make a real difference in helping colleagues balance their careers and personal lives."

Inge’s story: returning to WTW for its unmatched culture

For Inge, WTW is more than just a workplace — it’s a community she was eager to return to. "After leaving for another opportunity, I realized how much I missed WTW’s culture. My current director reached out to me, and after talking about all the things that made WTW special, I knew I wanted to come back."

As an Associate Director in Health, Wealth & Careers, Denmark, Inge leads client relationships and has worked at WTW for a total of 13 years. She lives in Horsens, Denmark, with her husband, two children, and their dog.

“At WTW, success is measured in a more holistic way — it’s about client retention and service, and how we live out WTW’s values daily," Inge explains. "I missed the structured processes and the culture of excellence that WTW is known for."

Beyond the professional aspects, Inge also missed the strong relationships she built at WTW. "I have incredible colleagues here, and the collaboration and support make a huge difference in my daily work."

"One of the best things about WTW is that opportunities are the same for both men and women," says Inge. "I’ve had great leaders — both male and female, who have supported my development and encouraged me to take on new challenges."

She also highlights the importance of work-life balance at WTW. "Even when my children were younger, I had the flexibility to balance work and family life. My manager has always been supportive of that."

"Coming back to WTW felt like coming home," Inge says. "The values, the culture, the people — it all reaffirmed why this is the right place for me.”
