Description

The Role

•    Manage and develop relationships with shipowners, maritime businesses and other marine clients, acting as a trusted adviser on P&I and related liability risks.
•    Understand each client’s business, operating model, exposures and risk management needs, and translate these into clear insurance and service solutions.
•    Lead the delivery of account service, ensuring client requirements are met to a high standard and in line with agreed service expectations.
•    Work with broking, claims, legal, technical and specialist colleagues to design, structure and deliver effective placement and servicing strategies.
•    Provide technical input on P&I, charterers’ liability, marine liabilities and associated covers, drawing on internal and market expertise where required.
•    Support renewal planning, market engagement, insurer and P&I Club discussions, client presentations and stewardship activity.
•    Identify opportunities to grow and strengthen existing client relationships through additional services, cross-sell opportunities and wider WTW capabilities.
•    Contribute to new business activity, including prospect development, proposal preparation and client pitches.
•    Maintain strong working relationships with insurers, P&I Clubs, claims advocates and internal stakeholders to support successful outcomes for clients.
•    Ensure compliance with WTW policies, regulatory requirements, service standards and operational processes.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring

•    Strong experience in marine insurance, with specialist knowledge of Protection & Indemnity and marine liability risks.
•    Experience managing complex client relationships within broking, P&I Clubs, marine underwriting, claims, legal, shipping or maritime risk environments.
•    A credible client-facing style, with the ability to build trust with senior stakeholders and advise confidently on technical and commercial matters.
•    Good understanding of the marine market, including P&I Clubs, insurers, placement dynamics and the issues affecting shipowners and maritime clients.
•    Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and commercially.
•    Ability to lead account activity, coordinate teams and manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
•    A collaborative mindset, with the confidence to draw on specialist expertise across WTW and bring the best of the firm to clients.
•    ACII, legal, maritime, insurance or other relevant professional qualifications would be advantageous, but are not essential where equivalent experience can be demonstrated.
