Description
The Role:
- Lead and develop business development opportunities primarily within the Medical Insurance and Health & Benefits segment.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients, with clear ownership of opportunities from initial engagement through conversion.
- Identify client challenges, renewal cycles, decision-makers, and opportunities where WTW can deliver measurable value.
- Position WTW beyond traditional insurance brokerage by promoting analytics, advisory capabilities, claims insights, cost optimization, benchmarking, and other value-added services.
- Work closely with the H&B technical and placement teams to develop competitive and differentiated client propositions.
- Support major tenders, RFPs, presentations, and strategic client pitches.
Client & Market Development
- Establish and strengthen relationships with senior decision-makers, including HR, Finance, Procurement, Risk and executive management.
- Develop a structured approach to strategic target accounts and priority sectors.
- Identify market trends, client needs and emerging opportunities that can contribute to WTW’s growth.
- Maintain continuous engagement with prospects ahead of their insurance renewal cycles.
- Represent WTW professionally in client meetings, industry events and relevant market engagements.
Broader Business Development Contribution
- Support the Senior Director of Business Development in executing the wider Saudi Arabia growth strategy.
- Participate in strategic opportunities requiring coordination across different WTW capabilities and specialties.
- Facilitate introductions and cross-business opportunities based on identified client needs.
- Develop an increasingly holistic understanding of WTW’s solutions to support broader client conversations.
- Contribute to integrated propositions involving multiple WTW capabilities where appropriate.
- Support selected strategic accounts and business development initiatives beyond the primary H&B portfolio as required by business priorities.
Pipeline & Commercial Management
- Maintain accurate and timely opportunity information within the CRM.
- Monitor pipeline development, opportunity stages, expected revenue, probability and next actions.
- Participate actively in weekly Business Development and pipeline reviews.
- Ensure opportunities have clear strategies, decision-maker mapping and defined next steps.
- Support forecasting and reporting against agreed business development targets.
- Analyze Win/Loss outcomes and recommend actions to improve conversion.
Team Support & Leadership
- Support the Senior Director in coordinating day-to-day Business Development activities.
- Provide guidance and support to junior Business Development colleagues, particularly on prospecting, client engagement and opportunity development.
- Encourage collaboration between Business Development, H&B, Placement and other relevant WTW teams.
- Help maintain strong commercial discipline, accountability and CRM data quality across the team.
- Act as a point of support for Business Development matters when delegated by the Senior Director.

- Cross-business opportunity identification
- Contribution to overall Business Development objectives
- Development and support of junior BD team members
Role Evolution
The position is expected to develop in line with business needs and individual performance. While the initial emphasis will be on Health & Benefits and Medical Insurance, the role may progressively assume broader Business Development responsibilities, including strategic accounts, cross-business opportunities and wider commercial initiatives across WTW Saudi Arabia.
Reporting Line
Reports to: Senior Director – Business Development
The role will operate as a key deputy to the Senior Director, supporting both the execution of immediate business development priorities and the continued development of WTW Saudi Arabia’s broader growth platform.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree level education
- IFCE certified.
- Relevant Health & Benefits experience and expertise.
- Proven track record of delivering high levels of client service.
- Skilled at building effective relationships, at all levels, with clients, prospects and insurers.
- Fluent in English and Arabic, verbal and written.
- IT: Advanced knowledge of standard Microsoft packages is essential.
- Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to represent WTW with integrity and credibility
- Proven track record of delivering high levels of client service.
- Knowledge of Willis products and services
- Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to represent WTW multi-levels of a corporation.
- Experienced knowledge of insurance markets in order to deal effectively with client and WTW needs
