The Role

This role is part of the WTW Enterprise Delivery Organization (WE DO) under the HR Services (HRS) function and will be based in Tokyo, Japan. The role will report directly to the HR Services Regional Cluster Lead with matrix reporting line to local HR lead and is responsible for delivering such HR Services like payroll operations, social ins. administration, statutory reporting and related data management, with initial focus on Japan.

Client Focus

  • Deliver day-to-day HR Services operations covering Tier 1-2 Regional HR Services and country-specific processes, with primary support for Japan and broader HRS scope

  • Collaborate closely with the broader HR Services network (local and global teams) to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery across locations

  • Support ServiceCentral case resolution and provide HR systems-related assistance in alignment with global processes

  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation, ensuring consistency across systems and geographies

  • Participate in cross-HR Services initiatives and ad hoc projects supporting HR Services priorities

Teamwork

  • Work in strong partnership with local and global HR Services teams, including stakeholders outside Japan, to drive alignment to standard processes and operating model

  • Actively participate in workload management, knowledge sharing, and cross-location support coverage as required by HR Services priorities

  • Contribute to process improvement, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives with a global HR Services lens

  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and standardization, and collaborate with leadership to implement improvements

Integrity

  • Ensure compliance with HR policies, data privacy standards, and governance frameworks across supported location/s

  • Support accurate and timely HRIS updates, including new hires, employee changes, and record maintenance across geographies

  • Develop deep process knowledge to provide value-added HR support and enhance service delivery standards

  • Drive consistency and quality in service delivery aligned with HRS global operating model

  • Continuously build subject matter expertise and deep knowledge of HR processes and policies to establish credibility and trust across stakeholders

Qualifications

The Requirements 

Essential

  • A Japanese national currently residing in the Tokyo area, with both native-level Japanese and strong business-level English.

  • A professional with a basic understanding of Japan’s labor laws / practices and social security system, ensuring compliance and smooth HR operations.

  • 3–5 years of experience in HR administration (e.g. payroll and social insurance-related operations)

  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, structured, and comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) based on process walkthroughs and subject‑matter input.

  • A detail-oriented multitasker who thrives in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities efficiently and effectively.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to leverage these tools for data management, reporting, and communication.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in managing email correspondence and interacting with colleagues across different levels and departments.

 

Desirable

  • HR Experience within a foreign multinational company, demonstrating familiarity with a diverse, global workplace.
