Description
At WTW a key focus is for Group Tax to manage their global tax compliance, reporting and statutory accounting obligations, through outsourcing, transformation and technology.
WTW has launched a search for (Assistant) Manager, Operational Excellence to assist the Director in identifying tax technology needs, opportunities for process improvements, automation, and increased efficiency to create best practices for the tax function.
This role is multi-faceted and provides a unique opportunity to help establish new processes for the tax team, working in a collaborative partnership cross-functionally with WTW’s IT and finance operations across the organisation.
We want tax transformation expertise to drive better visibility, greater efficiency and improved risk management across our organisation. This role will focus on process improvement, and integrating cutting-edge technologies, process automation, and AI.
In addition, the development of the new global minimum tax regime by the OECD, which has been agreed to by over 130 countries, has resulted in an unprecedented demand for tax transformation work in the UK and globally.

We are looking for a talented Manager to join us in any European or Asian office (although flexibility on location will be considered).
The Role
Assisting the Tax Operational Excellence Director with the overall delivery of tax transformation and technology projects, with a particular focus on Pillar 2 and financial reporting under US GAAP
- Support a data intensive, continuous improvement culture with specific goals and initiatives
Support implementation of some tax technology solutions and AI
Documenting the design, build and deploying automation solutions which are designed for Tax
- Working with the Tax Operational Excellence Director to develop robust global governance and control frameworks
- Engage with key stakeholders in tax (direct, indirect, transfer pricing) on initiatives to automate processes, improve quality, and enhance controls
- Work with all project teams and IT as subject matter expert on assigned applications
Qualifications
The Requirements:
- Relevant experience in technology (programming, application development, software implementation and automation) and / or tax (with emphasis on transformation, data, and reporting)
Experience of improving processes, driving automation, and delivering value
Experience in change management and stakeholder management
Tax compliance and tax reporting automation expertise, particularly around international tax or direct tax compliance
Familiarity with end-to-end finance processes and in particular financial reporting under US GAAP, IFRS or other local GAAPs
Experience with Fabric data lakes and similar technologies
Experience with data, analytics and workflow automation tools. (e.g. Power BI)
Experience with financial systems to support tax reporting and tax compliance processes
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present issues and recommendations in a clear and concise manner
Strong collaboration and teamwork, a proven cross-functional partner with accounting, finance and IT teams
In addition to these key areas, other desirable but not essential skills include:
Data, data bases, data transmission and data transformation including an understanding of structured query language (SQL)
Implementing new processes for new tax regimes
Acting as a functionality translator, between technology teams and tax teams
