Career progression does not always begin with a detailed plan. Sometimes, it starts with curiosity, a willingness to learn and a team that believes in your potential.

Across our LATAM Center, colleagues are building careers that look very different from where they started.

Whether entering the company with no industry experience, stepping into a leadership position for the first time or progressing from an entry-level role to managing a team,  stories share a common theme: here, you'll be given opportunities, guidance and trust, but your evolution  is ultimately in your own hands.

From an apprenticeship to new opportunities

Bryan Ramirez began his WTW journey in June 2023 as an apprentice. From the start, he found a welcoming team that was ready to share knowledge and guide him as he took his first steps in the organization.

Alongside the technical skills required for his role, Bryan learned the value of teamwork, effective communication and a culture that encourages continuous development.

Today, as a Claims Executive, he credits the learning environment, guidance from inspiring leaders and development opportunities with motivating him to take on new challenges.

"From my first day I felt welcomed by my team. I learned that professional development comes not only from building technical skills, but also from asking questions, staying open-minded and actively contributing to projects."

Bryan’s advice to those beginning their careers is to make the most of every learning opportunity, build strong relationships and take an active role in their own development.

Learning, evolving and leading

Jessica Hernandez's story demonstrates how careers can move in unexpected ways.

"I joined as an executive knowing nothing about insurance. Today, I coordinate my team after several years of learning and dedication."

When asked what made the biggest difference in her professional development, her answer was simple:

"The support of my leaders and the trust they placed in me from the beginning."

Jessica also believes that our company stands apart because of its people-first culture:

"WTW is made up of empathetic colleagues who genuinely care about one another. Here, we support each other's mental health and wellbeing beyond work."

Stepping into leadership with confidence

For Avelina Zimbron, now Senior Director, Head of Technology Consulting Americas, growth has meant embracing new responsibilities and developing as a leader.

"One of my greatest experiences here was when I navigated health challenges after transitioning into a leadership role. The support I received from my leaders made all the difference."

Looking back on her journey, Avelina points to the culture around her as a key factor in her success:

"Every day you work with colleagues who encourage you to take ownership and help one another."

Her experience highlights an environment where colleagues are encouraged to step forward, take on new challenges and continue building their careers with confidence.

The common thread behind these stories

While their journeys are different, Bryan, Jessica and Avelina all describe similar experiences: supportive leadership, opportunities to  progress and a culture built on collaboration.

Their stories demonstrate that career growth is not defined by a single promotion or milestone. It is shaped by continuous development, new challenges, trusted mentors and colleagues who help each other move forward.
