Description
As a Wellbeing, Equity and Disability Management (WEDM) Associate Manager you will contribute to a wide variety of compelling and complex projects related to Wellbeing, Equity and Disability Management programs.
You will collaborate with carriers, vendors and client teams, help prepare client deliverables, and ensure quality standards are met. You will have the opportunity to significantly grow your health and benefits business acumen, as well as your disability management and wellbeing subject-matter expertise, project management and communication skills, by working on cutting-edge projects alongside industry leaders. You will also be at the forefront of change in a dynamic, fast-paced environment as we enhance existing processes and support Health and Benefits’ rapid growth objectives.
As a subject-matter expert, you will regularly interact with other experts and WTW consultants to contribute to the development of new intellectual capital and client deliverables, develop strategies to address clients’ business objectives, and contribute to our overall Health and Benefits business strategy.

Responsibilities:
- Play an active role in engagements for multiple clients of varying complexity to gain insights across different client profiles and roles.
- Apply in-depth knowledge and experience across varying levels of client complexity to support WEDM engagements and coordinate the effective and efficient delivery of client deliverables.
- Understand clients’ needs and identify products and services to address them.
- Address client questions on a variety of WEDM topics and escalate them to senior colleagues when needed.
- Understand and effectively articulate carriers’ and vendors’ specific strengths and weaknesses.
- Establish relationships with key contacts across the carrier and vendor landscape.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and produce quality deliverables on time and within budget.
- Create and manage detailed project plans, budgets, efficiency targets and timelines.
- Draft initial client deliverables in collaboration with WEDM leads and Client Service team colleagues.
- Collaborate with Global Delivery Centers, WEDM colleagues and the Client Service team to deliver superior project management.
- Build strong internal relationships and partners effectively on cross-functional teams.
- Communicate effectively to drive client action.
- Undertake other special projects and initiatives as they arise.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Five or more years of experience in disability management and wellbeing roles, preferably gained as an insurance carrier or vendor disability case manager, an employer’s internal disability and wellbeing program manager, a consulting professional, or other allied health professional.
Deep knowledge of disability management best practices, carrier adjudication practices, rehabilitation, return-to-work and accommodation principles.
Experience working on wellbeing and mental health programs and strategies that deliver meaningful outcomes by helping clients reduce population health risks, medical costs and encourage healthy lifestyles.
Strong analytical, creative and integrative skills, with the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and produce quality deliverables on time and within budget.
Strong client service orientation and the ability to respond to communication effectively and in a timely manner.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A proactive, self-starting attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team and maintain a goal-oriented mindset.
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
Strong collaboration skills and openness to continuous improvement.
Ability to direct the work of more junior colleagues and provide feedback.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
Provincial life and health license required within 180 days of joining.
Relevant experience and/or a university degree.
- Qualifications considered an asset:
- Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP) or Certified Excellence Professional (CEP) designation, or equivalent.
- Bilingualism in French and English, both oral and written.
Compensation
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $80,000 CAD -$100,000 CAD per year.
This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
