    Description

    The Role
    As the Leader of the Executive Compensation Practice in the Asia Pacific Region, you will be responsible for developing new business, leading and delivering large, strategic client engagements, serving as strategic advisor to clients in your areas of subject matter expertise, developing unique and insightful intellectual capital, ensuring the quality of our advice and counsel in multiple markets, developing and mentoring senior consultants across the region, and partnering with other consulting practices to better service our clients across Asia Pacific. You will also be asked to contribute your expertise and thought leadership to the overall development of the global Executive Compensation practice and act as a coach and mentor for fellow colleagues. Role could be based anywhere in APAC. 

    Clients

    • Develop and maintain selected key accounts and trusted client relationships at a senior level in a way that results in building long term client relationships across multiple practices
    • Actively manage multiple and complex engagements ensuring that projects are completed on a timely and profitable basis while ensuring high client satisfaction 
    • Serve as the senior EC leader on complex, multi-discipline projects, ensuring that EC strategy aligns with overall human capital and benefits strategy 
    • Think strategically in partnering with clients to pioneer unique approaches to solving their business problems
    • Provide high quality consulting advice, accurate technical content and engaging deliverables to Boards and senior leaders in client companies
    • Use highly effective written and spoken communications to deliver detailed findings, analyses and recommendations to Boards and senior leaders of client organizations

    Financial

    • Primary accountability for creating and executing a business strategy to penetrate the local and regional markets and introduce new clients to the firm in order to meet annual revenue goals 
    • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to maximize the penetration of key target accounts 
    • Identify opportunities to cross-sell new products and services 
    • Coordinate with existing sales and Client Relationship Management teams to identify, develop and close strategic sales opportunities

    • Provide insight, judgement and intellectual capital to the executive compensation business and local office teams

    People

    • Lead EC engagements including developing project plans for execution of large, global engagements leveraging cross-functional teams that work together effectively
    • Demonstrate extensive leadership ability by effectively mentoring other senior consultants
    • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-cultural and cross-functional teams spanning mulitple geographies
    • Ensure project managers are maintaining team progress against established budget, timeline and quality standards (while you have overall responsibility, consultant level staff typically serve as day to day project managers) 

    Qualifications

    The Requirements

    • Significant experience in consulting at the Board level
    • In-depth knowledge of tax, corporate finance, regulatory, corporate governance and accounting issues and requirements in order to design executive compensation plans including annual, equity, stock and other long- and short-term incentive plans
    • Hands-on experience crafting compensation solutions in special situations such as IPO’s, LBO’s, M&A’s, divestitures, spin-offs, recapitalizations and venture/entrepreneurial start-ups
    • Executive presence, including polished and well-developed written and oral communication skills and ability to influence senior management while working effectively across all levels of an organization 
    • Collaborative business style to introduce new programs and value-added services both internally and to client organizations
    • Outstanding analytical skills and understanding of human resource and financial issues within major global organizations and in entrepreneurial environments
    • Proven experience with and passion for business development
    • Proven business management skills, including financial and people management
    • Collaborative business style, internally and externally
    • Experience in coaching, managing and developing others
    • Excellent client relationship skills, interpersonal skills and entrepreneurial attitude
    • Commitment to quality and professionalism; continuously working to achieve the highest quality standards
    • An undergraduate degree is required; an advanced degree is highly desirable, particularly an MBA, MA or MSc and professional certifications are highly desirable
    • Written and spoken fluency in English is a must
