    Description

    As a Director within Life team of ICT Hong Kong, you will be responsible for driving sales and business development with key Life insurance clients, supporting the development and rollout of our proposition marketing campaigns, and managing large, high profile, complex, leading-edge projects covering advisory work and technology implementations, ensuring excellence in project execution primarily in Hong Kong though also across the Asia Pacific region.

    The Role

    ICT has ambitious growth plans for our APAC propositions and seeks a Director to drive the accomplishment of these plans in Hong Kong. In this role, you will actively seek, develop, and close new business opportunities to achieve our sales goals in the Hong Kong Life insurance market. 

    Your main areas of focus will be:

    1. Business Development & Pipeline Management
    2. Client Relationship Management of certain Client accounts
    3. Preparation of key marketing and thought leadership materials, credentials to support business development activities and promotion of our consulting and technology solutions 
    4. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders (including clients, industry experts, ecosystem partners)
    5. Perform ongoing industry and competitor analysis and identify key trends that effect our client’s businesses
    6. Project Oversight and Delivery
      1. Scoping
      2. Analysis
      3. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
      4. Project Delivery 
      5. Preparation of Documentation
      6. Debrief
    7. Developing talent and capabilities
    8. Ensure Professional Excellence and internal risk management standards are met

    Role objectives:

    Financial

    • Operating as a highly respected and market-leading consultant in Hong Kong, meet financial targets agreed with you
    • Maximise utilisation of team resources to support local, divisional and regional results
    • Support new business development activities, actively seeking to generate new opportunities and maximise business through relationships and contacts
    • Manage client delivery and associated financial processes, e.g. invoicing and on-time payment of bills

     

    Client

    • Build and maintain relationships with key players within the insurance and financial services market across Asia Pacific
    • Maintain a trusted advisor relationship with client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects
    • Take responsibility for the delivery of projects which meet or exceed client expectations, ensuring that they are delivered to time and on budget
    • Develop profile as the go-to person for Asia Pacific-based life insurance companies who require consultancy support 
    • Maintain a trusted advisor relationship with client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects

     

    People

    • Manage more junior colleagues assigned to your projects to ensure on-time delivery and quality that meets or exceeds not only our internal high standards but also client expectations
    • Facilitate the development of less experienced colleagues through coaching and mentoring on those projects. 
    • Promoting Cross Border and Cross LOB collaboration
    • Participate in ICT regional and cross-functional teams, bringing technical expertise and promoting teamwork to ensure client satisfaction and profitable business growth.

    Qualifications

    The Requirements

    • At least 15+ years of life insurance experience in a consulting firm, financial services organization or life insurance firm.
    • Qualified actuary with more than 5 years of PQE.  
    • Proven success in senior client management and/or sales/business development roles 
    • Proven track record of successful pipeline development, delivery of effective sales strategies and reputation as a client-centric sales professional
    • Highly credible and experienced at discussing complex issues with senior management and providing innovative potential solutions
    • Strong in actuarial technical concepts, covering for example Economic Capital / Risk Based Capital / Capital Modelling, Financial Modelling, IFRS17, Business Process Automation, Data Analytics / Dynamic Pricing, Embedded Value (Traditional and/or MCEV), Strategy / Market Entry / Exit, Merger & Acquisitions.
    • Strong Hong Kong insurance industry knowledge, regulatory knowledge and senior stakeholder network 
    • A strong interest in leveraging technology to support clients on their digital transformation journeys 
    • Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget.
    • Strong client relationship, interpersonal and team skills.
    • Well-developed verbal communication skills.
    • Self-starter attitude and ability to work within ambiguity.
    • Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues.
    • Strong analytical and creative skills.
    • Enjoy training/mentoring junior staff.
    • The ability to see the "big picture," leveraging the resources of related practices to address the clients' business challenges.
    • Fluency in English, and preferably a second language 
    • Availability to travel on an as needed basis.
