We help clients manage investment complexity; work with them to better align strategy and portfolio construction to balance risk and return, with efficient and fit-for purpose implementation.

     

    The Role

    As (Lead) Associate, you will work closely with like-minded team members to provide holistic and practical investment solutions, to achieve better investment outcome to our clients given their specific situation. We work with clients to create the most fit-for-purpose investment arrangement, including investment strategy, portfolio construction, manager structure and lineup. 

    There is flexibility for the role to have greater focus on (i) investment strategy and capital market modelling, or (ii) client engagement and project management. The role’s responsibilities would broadly include the following. 

    Technical / Thought Leadership 

    • Calibrate, develop and enhance financial models to generate macroeconomic and capital market assumptions 
    • Contribute to the construction and delivery of advice and solutions to clients, including research, analyses, modelling, and report writing

    Project Management

    • Work as part of dedicated client teams in providing a variety of services to designated clients 
    • Plan and coordinate completion of project tasks on time, on budget, and within scope 
    • Increase efficiency by identifying ways to improve processes

    People 

    • Build strong relationships internally; communicate and collaborate effectively with team members and cross-functional teams 
    • Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels 

    Client Engagement 

    • Establish professional relationships with clients and external asset managers 
    • Develop good understanding of clients’ business and apply this to problem-solving and analysis 
    • Attend client meetings, and take responsibility for accurate and timely production of meeting notes

    Qualifications

    The Requirements 

    • 3 to 6 years’ working experience. 
    • An individual with integrity who is keen to learn with an enquiring mind, and adapts new knowledge with ease, agility and open mindedness. 
    • A self-starter who strives to achieve goals. 
    • Ability to work independently
    • Demonstrate accomplishments and success in working in a collegial environment. 
    • Demonstrate ability to work under stress and time pressure. 
    • A good first degree, with an intention to develop relevant professional qualifications such as CFA, FIA or equivalent. A first degree in economics, econometrics, mathematical disciplines preferred. 
    • Sound knowledge in VBA, MATLAB and/or Python strongly preferred. 
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong written and verbal communication in English is a must. Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, or other Asian language is a plus. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint essential.
