The Role. 

WTW has enterprise-wide, global service offerings with “client ready” teams of experienced Global Benefits Management (GBM) and Mergers & Acquisition (M&A) practitioners. To achieve these goals, our GBM and M&A teams consist of consultants with various backgrounds and experiences to best serve our clients by leveraging broad and deep relationships across the employee life cycle. They not only respond to market demand but will create new demand in the market through their thought leadership and industry experience.

 

GBM and M&A Overview

 

As a GBM and M&A Summer Intern, you will play an important role in delivering high‑quality consulting solutions on complex, multi‑country transactions. You will work alongside senior consultants and subject matter experts, contributing to both client delivery and the continued growth of our GBM and M&A capabilities through thought leadership, collaboration, and business development support.

  • Work as part of a team to provide consulting advice and services to multinational companies concerning global benefits management and people related issues during corporate M&A transactions.
  • Assist with analysis and financial modelling for special projects including mergers and acquisitions, benefit plan strategy and design, plan management and governance strategy, and global financing and funding policies.

  • Contribute to the development of new tools and approaches while collaborating effectively on cross-functional and global teams.

  • Liaise effectively with colleagues regarding data collection, analyses, and project execution.

  • Assist in the development of project plans and budgets, schedule and manage weekly/bi-weekly status meeting calls and ensuring effective communication among team members and the client.

  • Collaborate with consultants across geographies and engage in cross-functional activities while ensuring projects met timelines and quality standards.

  • Support business infrastructure and intellectual capital creation to ensure meeting brand and industry standards.

  • Develop analytical skills involving working with big data sets, statistical analyses, and visualizations of results.

 

Qualifications

Role Requirements:

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with a target graduation date of May 2027 
  • Eligible candidates must be going into their senior year in Fall 2027
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 and above   
  • Analytical skills and business acumen

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft office tools – e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word

  • Experience with artificial intelligence tools – e.g., Microsoft Copilot  

  • WTW’s hybrid working environment allows for flexible working schedules with a mixture of both remote and in office time including global collaboration across teams. During the internship, most colleagues are expected to go into the office 3 times a week
  • Able to work legally in the United States indefinitely and without Visa sponsorship

Compensation and Benefits

 

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that base salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).

 

Compensation: The hourly rate being offered for this role is $27-$33/hr USD.

 

This role is also eligible for over-time.
