-Role Overview

The Sales Manager is directly responsible for driving new business acquisition across both general and specialty insurance classes in the Singapore market. This individual contributor role is focused on meeting and exceeding annual new business sales targets by leveraging deep knowledge of insurance solutions and strategic relationships in the Singapore marketplace. The successful candidate will operate with full accountability for pipeline generation, client acquisition, and the closure of new business opportunities, working closely with the Head of Sales and wider commercial team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Head of Sales to shape and implement effective sales strategies for new business growth across both general and specialty lines.
  • Deliver on individual revenue targets and KPIs, with full accountability for sales performance and reporting.
  • Proactively source, manage, and convert prospecting opportunities in the Singapore market, ensuring a robust and high-quality sales pipeline.
  • Provide timely feedback and market insights to the Head of Sales, supporting dynamic prioritization and adjustments to local sales plans.
  • Deliver high-impact sales presentations and proposals to corporate clients and internal stakeholders, demonstrating a strong grasp of client needs and WTW solutions.
  • Engage client management, broking, and operations teams to ensure seamless onboarding of new accounts and/or cross-sell opportunities.
  • Support pricing discussions and commercial negotiations, balancing margin requirements with market competitiveness. Adhere to WTW’s pricing discipline and company profitability guidelines.
  • Maintain diligent CRM data on D365 and sales documentation to enable transparency, learning, and future pipeline management.
  • Represent WTW at industry events, building networks and enhancing brand presence in the Singapore insurance ecosystem.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of business development processes by sharing best practices and feedback with the Head of Sales and peers.
  • Cultivate strong, trusted relationships with corporate clients, insurers, and industry partners.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of market trends, product developments, and competitor activity.
  • Operate as a collaborative team member who contributes to overall business development culture

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the insurance industry (new business generation, distribution, or sales support), ideally with exposure to both general and specialty lines within Singapore.
  • Clear record of consistent new business generation and meeting or exceeding sales targets in the Singapore insurance market.
  • Strong product knowledge and technical ability to articulate complex insurance solutions for diverse clients.
  • Demonstrated relationships with clients, underwriters, and other market stakeholders in Singapore, with an active network will be a plus.
  • Outstanding presentation, negotiation, and communication skills, both written and verbal, tailored to senior corporate decision-makers.
  • Highly self-motivated, results-oriented, and meticulous, with a strong attention to detail in all sales activities.
  • Able to work independently as a driven sales producer, while actively collaborating in team-based strategies and pipeline reviews (including regular interaction with the Head of Sales).
  • Tertiary qualification preferred; ACII or equivalent industry certification a plus.
  • Deep familiarity with CRM systems, sales analytics, and digital tools relevant to consultative sales processes in Singapore.
  • This is a full-time position governed by WTW’s corporate workplace policy: a minimum of 4 days per week working in-office, with the option to work from home 1 day per week
  • Commercial acumen and keen understanding of client needs and market dynamics in Singapore insurance.
  • Professional presence, able to represent the company credibly at industry and client-facing events.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply WTW’s competency standards in teamwork, client focus, and continuous improvement
