nd User Computing Operations engineers are responsible for operational management ensuring the stability of the service and service innovation., Achieving this through analysis and solutioning. An engineer is expected to be strategically focused at all times, also looking at automation opportunities with the current services to simplify the operational model. 

The Junior Operational Engineer will assist the End User Computing operations manager and End User Computing solutions team to provide operational support and management of the relevant platforms. A successful candidate should expect to spend much of their time managing, supporting and maintaining the day-to-day aspects of the End User Computing platforms, analyzing current services, identifying/communicating operational improvements, assisting in the delivery of new solutions, administering patching cycles and addressing identified vulnerabilities with end user platforms.  

Candidates should expect to assist offshore engineering groups, able to communicate (in English) platform architectures/operational processes and remediation skills. 

The Role

  • Develop, test, and deploy application packages in Microsoft Intune, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and security policies. 

  • Support configuration and troubleshooting of EPM policies to maintain secure and efficient privilege management across endpoints. 

  • Provide operational assistance for device provisioning via Autopilot and resolve issues related to Windows 365 Cloud PC environments. 

  • Deliver operational engineering and support for global End User Computing platforms, including Intune, Active Directory, JAMF, and other EUC technologies. 

  • Ensure smooth execution of monthly patching cycles for Microsoft platforms and third-party applications by creating the related packages/scripts. 

  • Work closely with Solutions Engineers and Technical Management to maintain and enhance EUC environments, processes, and documentation. 

  • Identify operational improvements, communicate recommendations to platform owners, and implement improvement programs. 

  • Create high-quality technical documentation, training materials, and process guides to support internal teams and offshore engineering teams. 

  • Participate in developing engineering skills of offshore teams through consultation and technical documentation. 

  • Provide 3rd-line analytical problem-solving support to meet Service Delivery SLAs. 

  • Troubleshoot complex EUC-related issues and ensure timely resolution.

Qualifications

The Requirement

  • An ITIL qualification is desirable but not essential 

  • A basic understanding of how applications interact with the Windows Operating System is critical as is experience in Enterprise Microsoft products and expertise in Active Directory 

  • 2+ Years’ experience with core technologies such as SCCM, Intune, Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365 Suite 

  • Demonstrable experience with patch management technologies (including Windows Update for Business), methodologies and processes is highly desirable 

  • Experience with PowerBi, Power Automate and Log Analytics desirable 

  • Can demonstrate fundamental Microsoft Azure competency/awareness 

  • Has experience developing scripted solutions with Microsoft PowerShell 

  • Will be a self-motivated achiever, quickly grasp and interpret salient information with the ability to take a can-do approach without the need for supervision 

  • Experience with MS Defender for Endpoint (MDE) is desirable  

  • Experience with EPM desirable.
