Job Description
As a Benefit Advisor, you will have the rewarding opportunity to speak with Medicare eligible participants across the country in a sales role to assist them in selecting insurance plans that meet their needs. You will spend your entire day in phone conversations with participants exercising patience and knowledge with caring explanations to enroll them in healthcare insurance products.
Pre-licensed Benefit Advisors will start at $18/hr. and will have significant incentive earning potential during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (Oct-Dec). During the Annual Enrollment Period many Benefit Advisors make between $500-$1,000 in monthly bonuses & incentives with our top BAs making $2,000+.
This is a full-time temporary role. Our top performers will be eligible for full-time year-round employment based on business needs, which offers a robust WTW compensation and benefits package.

Although this role is open for remote work, you must be a current resident of Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, or Wyoming to be considered for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Fully participate in and progress through a paid exam preparation program and pass your state’s Life and Health Insurance license exam
• Successfully complete all required certifications to represent local and national insurance carriers
• Use a consultative sales approach to listen and assess the retiree’s insurance needs
• Conduct eligibility and needs analysis to determine suitable plan options
• Effectively communicate the costs and benefits of multiple insurance plans over the phone using an empathetic approach
• Make plan recommendations based on participants individual needs and assist the participant in the decision-making process
• Maintain professionalism, and patience with each caller. You will receive scheduled appointment calls along with first time callers
• Participate in outbound call campaigns designed to provide an introduction into the participants new relationship with our company
• Work as a team player in a diverse, professional call center environment

The Requirements
You are excited to learn new things, have strong computer skills, are self-motivated and are open to feedback for continual improvement. You have patience and the ability to listen and recognize the needs of participants, even when they are unable to clearly articulate what is important to them. You are able to change your communication style based on the region of the call, the client, and the medical needs of each caller. You overcome objections with knowledge, patience, and understanding, and enjoy communicating with new people over the phone!
Training Requirements
You will participate in a paid exam preparation program lasting 4 weeks to pass your state Life and Health license exam. Study materials, exam scheduling, and exam testing are also coordinated and paid for by WTW. It is REQUIRED that you pass the state license exam in order to be eligible to enter the Benefit Advisor Training program.
• After passing the licensing exam you will attend a virtual two-week training class and then perform a week of nesting with your new team.
Skill Requirements
• Ability to understand and comply with all agent appointment and carrier certification requirements necessary to represent local and national insurance carriers
• Experience using Microsoft Office is preferred, with ability to multi-task between multiple screens and windows all while answering questions on the phone
• Ability to learn new proprietary computer systems
• Experience in a needs-based sales role, preferred
• Ability to work autonomously in a self-paced, self-motivated team environment
• Ability to communicate professionally and courteously
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret insurance documents, detailed correspondence, procedure manuals, insurance applications, and polices.
• Life/Health Insurance certification a plus
• High School Diploma or GED required
• During the Enrollment Season (Oct-Dec), mandatory overtime may be required
• Other duties as assigned
WTW operates in a highly regulated environment; you will be required to complete an extensive background check in order to be licensed as a Benefit Advisor.
Work from home requirements: Equipment provided!
• All applicants will be required to have a separate confidential and distraction free workspace so you can focus on delivering excellent customer service to our participants
• The applicant will secure and be responsible for paying their own internet expenses to include a minimum upload speed 10 MB/s, and a minimum download speed 100 MB/s
• Wired Ethernet connection that meets upload and download speed requirements as noted above
• a personal smart phone or other device able that can download applications and be used to authenticate to our Virtual Private Network (available via application download).
• Applicants will be required to work during their assigned shift time which does include specified lunch and break times
• Hardware and software requirements and additional guidelines provided during the interview selection process
