    The Role 

    We are seeking an experienced and visionary PMO Leader to oversee the Benefits Delivery and Administration (BDA) Project Management Office (PMO). The PMO will sit within the Strategic Projects team, and the PMO Leader will report to the Director of Strategic Projects. 

    The PMO Leader will manage and refine the existing PMO framework and actively lead high-impact projects and initiatives that drive business growth and operational excellence. This highly visible role requires a proactive, hands-on leader who thrives on building structure, solving complex challenges, and delivering measurable results. 

    The PMO Leader will standardize project management practices, collaborate with senior leadership to align initiatives with strategic objectives and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. They will establish and enforce the PMO vision to support cross-functional projects with defined timelines and ongoing operational projects that benefit the business. Each project charter will align with this framework.

    Key Responsibilities 

    PMO Leadership and Refinement: 

    • Refine and implement standardized project management procedures, tools, and software to streamline processes. 
    • Ensure the PMO framework supports consistency, efficiency, and successful project outcomes. 
    • Drive the adoption of best practices while aligning with the organization's strategic priorities. 
       

    Strategic Leadership: 

    • Collaborate with the Director of Strategic Projects and other leadership team members to align PMO initiatives with business goals. 
    • Prioritize and manage the PMO’s project portfolio to maximize business value and impact. 
    • Establish metrics and reporting mechanisms to measure PMO performance and project success, leveraging data to inform decision-making and identify areas for improvement. 

     

    Project Leadership and Execution: 

    • Take direct ownership of high-profile, complex projects and strategic initiatives, ensuring their successful execution. 
    • Serve as a hands-on leader, diving into the details to resolve challenges, mitigate risks, and deliver results that meet or exceed expectations. 
    • Actively lead cross-functional teams in driving critical initiatives, demonstrating a strong ability to manage competing priorities and resources. 
       

    People Management and Team Oversight: 

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers and associates, ensuring their growth and engagement. 
    • Foster a collaborative and positive team culture, promoting accountability and teamwork. 
    • Allocate resources effectively across projects, balancing team workloads and priorities to ensure optimal delivery. 
    • Provide clear direction, set performance goals, and conduct regular evaluations to ensure the team’s success and professional growth. 
       

    Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: 

    • Act as the primary liaison between the PMO, Director of Strategic Projects, and other organizational leaders to ensure PMO initiatives are aligned with strategic goals. 
    • Provide clear, consistent updates on project statuses, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders. 
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring the PMO addresses organizational needs effectively. 
       

    Process Improvement and Innovation: 

    • Continuously identify opportunities to enhance project management practices and drive operational efficiency. 
    • Refine PMO processes based on feedback, changing organizational priorities and industry best practices. 
    • Stay informed on industry trends and technologies to maintain PMO innovation. 

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience: 

    • Bachelor's degree in business, project management, or a related field 
    • 10+ years of progressive project management experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role. 
    • Proven track record of managing cross-functional teams and delivering complex, high-impact projects 
    • Professional certifications preferred, but not required. 

    Leadership & Strategy: 

    • Proven ability to design, refine and implement scalable project management frameworks and tools. 
    • Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable plans and measurable outcomes. 
    • Experience aligning projects and resources with organizational priorities and managing competing demands effectively. 

    Hands-On Project Expertise: 

    • Exceptional ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on problem-solving. 
    • Expertise in risk management, issue resolution, and decision-making in dynamic environments. 
    • Team player, with the ability to “roll up your sleeves” and lead from the front, ensuring the success of key initiatives. 

     

    People Management & Collaboration: 

    • Strong people management skills with a focus on team development, engagement, resource allocation, and instilling accountability. 
    • Exceptional communication and relationship management skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels. 
    • Ability to influence outcomes and drive results in a matrixed environment. 

    Execution & Problem Solving: 

    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project, to manage workflows, reporting, and project tracking effectively.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple, complex initiatives simultaneously. 
    • Expertise in risk management, problem resolution, and decision-making under pressure. 
    • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to deliver results in a dynamic environment. 

     

    Compensation and Benefits  

    Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only). 

     

    Compensation 

    The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $95,000 - $120,000 USD per year. This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
