How you will create value from risk for our clients

Based in Hong Kong and working alongside our global team of risk consultants, actuaries, accountants, climate specialists, and risk engineers, this role focuses on creating value for our clients by enhancing their approach to risk and becoming a trusted advisor.

Typically, you will work in teams of 2 - 4 consultants to define problems, quantify exposure, and create implementation roadmaps for sustainable risk financing improvements often in collaboration with broking colleagues.

You will lead the delivery of data-driven insightful analyses to some of the Asia’s largest and complex organizations. Your modelling skills will be used to help clients quantify their risk and develop risk transfer strategies that exploit arbitrage opportunities among mitigation, transfer, and retention levers and align risk decisions with financial strategy enhancing organizational resilience and maximizing performance. You will present results to client management, and you may be required to travel to client sites.

Core responsibilities

· Design, structure and oversee modelling analysis for clients’ risks, both individually and on a portfolio-basis, by applying standard actuarial techniques as well as WTW proprietary tools.

· Develop a trusted advisor relationship with internal WTW client relationship managers and client contacts through effective communication and quality execution of projects.

· Collaborate with client-facing colleagues and clients to develop new business opportunities and broaden existing relationships.

· Present complex analytical studies and recommendations to clients effectively.

· Participate in Research & Development of new initiatives.

· This role includes financial KPIs and new business targets.

· Regional travel will be required.

What makes you stand out

· Strong, persuasive, client-facing communication skills.

· Able to demonstrate experience of designing and building actuarial loss forecast models for non-life insurance risks such as property and liability.

· Manage and exceed client expectations on the timeliness as well as delivery of results in reports and presentations.

· Experienced in preparing and presenting results and recommendations reports in clear, simple, actionable language.

· Exhibits intellectual curiosity and a positive attitude, along with the innovation and problem-solving abilities required to design bespoke risk consulting solutions and models for our clients.

· Ability to collaborate effectively in a team and foster an inclusive environment with individuals at all levels of the organization.

· Demonstrated track record of delivering consulting projects and building a client portfolio / project pipeline.

· Exceptional analytical, quantitative and conceptual problem-solving skills.

Qualifications and skills that will make you stand out

· Advanced graduate degree in business/economics or a quantitative discipline (statistics, mathematics, or physics) strongly preferred.

· Qualified actuary by recognized body, three years+ of post qualification experience.

· Experience in general insurance actuarial analysis required.

· Capital modelling, reserving and pricing experience would also be desirable.

· Consulting and/or sales experience would also be desirable.

· Excellent PowerPoint skills and attention to detail are essential.

· Spoken and written English must be at native speaker level. Cantonese and Mandarin are also desirable.
