Executive Director Terrorism and Political Violence

Willis Towers Watson Team specialising in Political Violence (which includes Terrorism & Sabotage) anywhere in the world. Due to the ever-changing Political environment across the globe commercial businesses seek indemnification for their potential financial losses from the after effect of such events.

Working within a global team, based in London, in a fast-paced environment, with ever changing dynamics.

You will be responsible for a portfolio of clients and prospects with accountability for retention of clients and new business development. You will manage and develop client and Willis Towers Watson relationships and grow the portfolio within the business unit and will be responsible for converting prospects. 

The Role

Reporting to the Global Head of Broking for Terrorism and Political Violence

• Global Broking Leader managing all aspects of TPV broking and market relationships
• Working with Carrier Management in GB and regionally to achieve TPV and WTW goals
• Effective Management and Growth of TerrorMar within FINMAR Services
• Leading TPV Reinsurance, FAC & Treaty Opportunities in GB
• Leading and Representing TPV on CRB Global Broking Forum
• Client engagement on direct international clients
• Developing new client opportunities with WTW Network and through Third Parties
• Face to face broking in Lloyds and with London markets, and electronically with International markets
• Excellence in broking through trust, credibility and strong market relationships
• Seeking best terms and conditions for clients
• Understand the clients’ business and risk management needs, determine appropriate solutions, structure, price and placement strategies that meet the clients’ needs
• Actively identify opportunities to work with colleagues across the business to capitalise on account penetration and cross selling opportunities
• Ensure transparency of agency and other commitments made to carriers and clients
• Deliver optimisation of revenue from new and existing clients using the full range of appropriate placement channels and markets for the specific client segment of the business
• Client account administration with the goal to retain and develop a profitable terrorism portfolio of accounts, including day to day care of clients’ programme in a timely and accurate manner.

The Requirements

• ACII qualified or working towards the ACII qualification
• Educated to degree level or relevant industry experience
• 10+ years insurance market experience in the London and/or overseas, ideally in Political Violence or Property
• Strong analytical and numeracy skills
• Preparation of proposals and presentations using marketing resources, practice groups and other producers
• Good working knowledge of Market Reform Contracts for Insurance and Reinsurance contracts
• Attention to detail
• Be able to maintain face-to-face and telephone contact with clients and Underwriters
• Have a demonstrable track record of strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
• Excellent communication (written, oral & presentation) skills & interpersonal skills essential 
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment where lateral thinking, initiative, self-motivation and decision-making skills are crucial
• Proven track record of delivering high levels of service
• Skilled at building effective relationships, at all levels, with clients, prospects, associates, insurers and external specialists
• Ability to represent the practice and WTW with integrity and credibility
