    As a P&C actuarial analyst / senior actuarial analyst in ICT, you will work as part of a general insurance team on projects focused predominantly around pricing, claims, underwriting and data science. You will be involved in a variety of projects including pricing, data science/analytics, reserve valuation, RBC/ICAAP, merger and acquisitions and IFRS 17 etc. for our clients across South East Asia. Many of the projects will involve using WTW’s market leading actuarial software and techniques to produce customized solutions for our clients. 

    The Role

    • Producing, analysing and explaining the results, and will work closely with other analysts/consultants and the project lead/manager to ensure timely delivery of projects. 
    •  In addition to project delivery, you will also be supporting the project manager on drafting project plan, managing assigned workstreams, and ensuring the progress of the team against established objectives, budget, timeline, deliverables and quality standards. You will also be supporting on client communication, and business development activities.
    • Working with consultants and project managers on a variety of insurance-related client projects which includes, but not limited to:
      • Pricing
      • Data science and predictive analytics
      • IFRS 17 
      • Reserve valuation
      • Merger and acquisitions
      • Risk management and capital management
    • Developing actuarial models using WTW’s market leading actuarial software and techniques to produce customised solutions for our clients
    • Deliver high-quality work in compliance with Excellence standards and proactively look to improve the process
    • Manage time effectively across multiple concurrent assignments
    • Actively seek learning and development opportunities
    • Support on research and Intellectual Property Development (IPD) work 
    • Build strong relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams 
    • Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels
    • Serve as mentor to junior team members  
    • Deliver work in accordance to project deadlines and meet or exceed client expectations 
    • Work as part of a multidisciplinary consulting team to analyze issues and develop value-added solutions for the clients
    • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects
    • Meet billable hours targets 
    • Manage project budget efficiently
    • Contribute to sales activities by assisting on proposals, demos, presentations and pitches

       

    Qualifications

    The Requirements

    • Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or any other related quantitative fields
    • Fresh grads with internship experience, or experienced hires with up to 8 years of relevant pricing / data science experience in general insurance. More experienced candidates with strong GI pricing experience may be considered for the Consultant position.
    • Familiarity with WTW’s Radar pricing software (eg. Emblem/REA, Radar Base, Radar Live, Radar Vision)
    • Good progress with actuarial exams from recognised International Actuarial Bodies (e.g. CAS, IFOA)
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication, especially in presentation and report writing 
    • Self-driven achiever, and able to work independently with minimal supervision 
    • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel
    • Good time management skills, and able to manage multiple concurrent projects efficiently
    • Basic understanding of the insurance landscape, IFRS 17, reserving, M&A and/or pricing
