    Description

    Do you have significant Property Risk engineering experience within a large insurance broker or insurer and ready to take your career to the next level?

    Join us as a Property Risk Engineer and deliver a comprehensive suite of Property Risk Engineering services to support WTW’s GB Retail broking proposition; your expertise will be critical in ensuring our continued success and growth.

    This role will be offered on a Remote basis and so we welcome applicants from any locations across the UK.

    The Role

    •    Carry out Property Damage and Business Interruption surveys for (re)marketing purposes including detailed written reports with risk recommendations for improvement. Reports will contain key understanding of the hazards at sites / facilities and how the management team are controlling / mitigating their impact. Presentation of loss estimate calculations will also be required.
    •    Co-ordinate and manage multi-site survey programmes, analyse findings and produce stewardship reports.
    •    Provide ad-hoc advice to clients regarding specific projects, aspects of construction, fire protections, etc.
    •    Work with WTW colleagues to help develop them in their roles to ensure they have the appropriate skills and competencies to meet the needs of our clients, and to ensure they put the interests of clients and the integrity of the market at the heart of what they do.
    •    Manage client and account team expectations.
    •    Provide direction, advice and guidance to clients, account teams and colleagues whilst maintaining exemplary standards of integrity.
    •    Help drive new business growth, identify new business opportunities and lead generation.
    •    Ensure all risk engineering reports are delivered efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
    •    Build and manage relationships within peer group, both within and outside of the GB Retail business unit.
    •    Support delivery of the Practice’s budget and business plans whilst helping to manage operating costs.
    •    Weekly updating of all Property Risk Engineering project information on the company’s internal system to ensure accurate status reports can be derived at any time.
    •    Ensure your skills, competencies and knowledge are up to date and in line with WTW policies and procedures. 
    •    Work collaboratively with other stakeholders, including other members of the Property Risk Engineering team, Account Executives / Directors, Client Service Executives and insurers.
    •    Liaise with other industry specialists, e.g. architects, sprinkler contractors, fire alarm contractors, etc. 

    Qualifications

    The Requirements

    •    Significant property risk engineering experience gained with a large broker or insurer.
    •    Degree level calibre, preferably with a recognised fire engineering or other risk management qualification.
    •    Detailed knowledge of current risk management and loss prevention practices in Property Risk Engineering.
    •    Sound knowledge and understanding of fire protection solutions and the relevant codes for their design, installation and maintenance, e.g. FM, LPC, NFPA, EN, etc.
    •    Experience across a wide range of occupancy types.
    •    Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
    •    Self-starter, with good interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively relate to individuals at all levels – from site operatives up to company CEOs.
    •    Client focused.
    •    Proven ability to write detailed reports of a varied technical nature with the ability to analyse complex information and draw out the relevant facts.
    •    Excellent organisational skills.
    •    The ability to support and motivate both less and highly experienced colleagues. 
    •    Knowledge of NATCAT risks.
    •    Basic understanding of AI / GenAI technology and how it can be used to support the risk management process and drive efficiencies. 
    •    Full UK driving licence.
