    Description

    WTW has launched a national search for Director, Operational Excellence to lead the tax team in identifying tax technology needs, opportunities for process improvements, automation, and increased efficiency, and apply relevant technology to create best practices for applicable tax functions. This role is multi-faceted and provides a unique opportunity to help establish new processes and systems for the tax team, working in a collaborative partnership cross-functionally with WTW’s IT and finance operations across the entire organization.

    The Role:

    • Establish and support a data intensive, continuous improvement culture with specific goals and initiatives. 
    • Lead process to support and identify tax technology needs in partnership with the Data Strategy Office and IT/Financial Operations team.
    • Engage all key stakeholders in tax (direct, indirect, transfer pricing) to understand data sources and flows, reporting and data requirements, and opportunities to automate processes, improve quality, and enhance controls. 
    • Implement new system enhancements by gathering and documenting business requirements and partnering with IT to identify and test.
    • Lead the development and delivery of end user training materials and identify opportunities, and resources, for upskilling.
    • Conduct training on the applicable systems in support of functional processes
    • Work with all project teams and IT as subject matter expert on assigned applications.
    • Serve as the Tax Change Champion with accountability for effectiveness and efficiency of our tax processes.

    Qualifications

    The Requirements:

    • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in technology (programming, application development, software implementation and automation) and / or tax (with emphasis on transformation, data, and reporting) 
    • Working understanding of tax concepts and principles 
    • Experience with monthly, quarterly, year-end accounting close cycles, accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and SOX controls
    • Experience gathering and documenting stakeholder requirements as well as participating in end user acceptance testing.
    • Has executed successful implementations of one or more of the following:  Oracle, Hyperion, or SAP
    • Strong working knowledge of most of the following: Sabrix, One Source, Sharepoint, MS PowerSuite, HFM, Oracle R12/Fusion Cloud, Alteryx, Tableau, and Power BI
    • A proven cross-functional partner with accounting, finance and IT teams, as well as third parties (auditors, consultants)
    • Compelling and demonstrated track record in improving processes, driving automation, and delivering value
    • Well-honed project management skills:, including ability to motivate and drive results in multi-geographic and multi-cultural environments
    • Well-developed communication skills (verbal, written) with the ability to present issues and recommendations to diverse audiences in a clear and concise manner

    Compensation and Benefits

    Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).

     

    Compensation

    The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is USD $180,000-$240,000. This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
