Michelle Michelle joined WTW’s Graduate Program looking for a client‑facing role where she could learn quickly and work on real client matters from the start. Now part of the Client Servicing team within WTW Singapore’s Corporate Risk and Broking business, she supports clients across a wide range of industries while continuing to build strong technical foundations.

Looking for a role with pace and responsibility

Michelle was drawn to our program because she wanted a role that combined client interaction with problem‑solving and practical outcomes. Corporate Risk and Broking stood out to her as the ideal mix of understanding how businesses operate, identifying risks and helping clients find practical solutions. During the interview process, she gained a strong sense that WTW invests time in developing graduates, which was especially important to her at the early stages of her career.

Early impressions and trust from the beginning

When Michelle joined us, she was surprised by how approachable everyone was. From the start, she felt comfortable asking questions and seeking clarity. She was also struck by how quickly she was trusted with meaningful responsibility, even as a graduate. While she continued to receive guidance from various stakeholders, she was encouraged to take ownership and lead from early on, which helped her build confidence and develop quickly.

From business development to client servicing

Michelle began her career in the Corporate Risk and Broking Business Development team as a Graduate Analyst. In that role, she supported clients through risk identification and assessment while working with internal teams to help shape risk transfer strategies. She also contributed to initiatives beyond day‑to‑day work, including managing events end to end. In 2025, Michelle made an internal move into Client Servicing, bringing her closer to the execution stage of the client journey. Today, she supports the end‑to‑end servicing cycle for small and medium-sized enterprises and mid‑market clients, including renewal preparation, placement support and post‑placement servicing. She has also gained exposure to project management and tender‑related workstreams, giving her a broader view of the business.

Thriving in a fast‑moving position

What Michelle enjoys most about her role is the variety, the pace and the range of projects she works on. No two renewals or workstreams are the same. She values the mix of problem‑solving, coordination and attention to detail, as well as the opportunity to work closely with different internal teams. Managing multiple timelines and priorities can be challenging, particularly during busy renewal periods, but it is also where she has learned the most about communication, organisation and managing expectations.

Learning through experience and feedback

WTW has supported Michelle’s development through on‑the‑job learning and early exposure to real client work. Informal guidance from teammates and senior colleagues played a key role, allowing her to ask questions, receive quick feedback and learn how others approach complex work.
Michelle’s advice to future graduates is to come in curious and be ready to learn through doing. She encourages graduates to ask questions early, take ownership of small workstreams and focus on building strong fundamentals. She believes WTW offers real client exposure within a supportive environment, making it a strong place to begin an early career.
