How to prepare for your WTW interview

If you’ve got an interview with us, congratulations! We look forward to meeting you. We also want you to perform to your very best, so here are some hints and tips on how to excel on the day.

While you don’t have to become an expert on WTW, it’ll help you to have a general understanding of who we are and what we do. Take a look at our corporate site or our Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn pages, or just Google WTW and see what comes up.

We welcome curiosity, so ask plenty of questions about the role, our business and our culture. Write them down if you want.

You’ll be asked about why you want the role, as well as your experience, skills and interests, so be ready to show how they make you a great fit for the role. The more specific your answers are, the better.

Get your kit ready.

If your interview is in person, print out a fresh copy of your resume and your list of questions. If it’s virtual, test your mic, camera and interview platform login the day before, to make sure you’re good to go.

Dress appropriately.

Whether your interview is in person or virtual, wearing professional business attire is a great way to make a good first impression. The people you meet at WTW are likely to be dressed in business-casual.

Be on time.

Plan how you’ll get to the interview and set off or log in earlier than you think you need to. If your interview is in person, you should arrive at the office with at least 10 minutes to spare to allow for security screenings or other possible delays.

Be yourself.

While it’s important to be professional, we want to meet the real you.

Take your time.

It’s natural to be nervous. If you want to gather your thoughts before answering a question, that’s absolutely fine. It’s also fine to ask for further clarification if you need it.

Say thanks.

Close the process by saying thank you to the assessors or anyone else you meet on the day. It’ll leave a positive impression.

What we look for

There are a few things that will help you do well at WTW, whichever program or pathway you choose.

Your own point of view

Different perspectives make our culture stronger and our work more effective. So, we’ll want to hear yours.

A curious mind

The more questions you ask, the more you learn. And the more you explore WTW, the more opportunities you’ll find to grow your skills and your career.

A proactive approach

There are lots of ways to make an impact here. Be ready to step forward, offer your ideas and make things happen, because that’s how you’ll start to transform tomorrow.
