The Client Advocate (CA) is responsible for managing, growing, and retaining a book of complex client relationships.  The Client Advocate role has a strong connection to the client’s business and a fundamental understanding of its industry. The Client Advocate contributes to and generates new opportunities with prospects by developing and closing on expanded business services, products and solutions with existing clients. Client Advocates assist in responding to RFPs, oral presentation and help make the pitch. Participation in RFPs may be required on some accounts. As a Client Advocate you should be comfortable with developing innovative solutions

The Client Advocate will be responsible for Specialty Accounts on a National basis. It is expected that the Client Advocate have relationships with Insurers and may be asked to assist with the placement of accounts.

The Client Advocate will be required to work with the Head of Client Advocacy on training needs, KPIs, turnaround time, quality and adoption metrics, regulatory and compliance issues among other operational responsibilities. 

This role will primarily support middle market Life Sciences accounts while also partnering across a diverse portfolio of clients spanning multiple industries and specialties.  The ideal candidate is adaptable and comfortable, applying their expertise in varying risk environment, collaborating with colleagues across practice areas to deliver comprehensive client solutions.

The Role

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for a designated book, ensuring delivery of the WTW Client Promise.
  • Manage, retain, and grow client relationships while identifying opportunities for expanded services and solutions.
  • Develop and execute risk management and insurance strategies aligned to highly regulated and global operating environments.
  • Lead client engagements including renewals, stewardship meetings, RFPs, and oral presentations.
  • Partners with specialists, broking, and analytics teams to design and place insurance and reinsurance solutions.
  • Provide proactive advisory related to regulatory change, market conditions, and emerging risks.
  • Own the end-to-end renewal process, ensuring compliance with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive account profitability, retention, and growth through effective negotiation and strategic planning.
  • Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to team best practices.

Qualifications

The Requirements

  • 10+ years of commercial Property & Casualty experience in a client-facing, advisory, or advocacy role.
  • Proven experience managing complex middle market and large complex accounts, including Life Sciences clients.
  • Strong understanding of Life Sciences risks and regulatory considerations, combined with general industry expertise.
  • Ability to apply coverage knowledge to program design, gap analysis, and ongoing consultation.
  • Experience interpreting, analyzing, and presenting analytical and financial models.
  • Advanced relationship management skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills to drive consensus and close complex transactions.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of commercial insurance markets and renewal processes.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong project management skills across large and multi-dimensional initiatives.
  • Adaptable, curious, and analytical with strong critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant client management tools.
  • Must maintain insurance broker P&C license; industry designations preferred but not required (CPCU, ARM, CIC, CRIS, CRM).

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that base salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation.
