The Context

As part of the continued growth of our Health, Wealth & Career (HWC) segment in the Netherlands, we are looking to hire a HR Generalist who will take on a broad HR generalist remit, delivering end-to-end support across the employee lifecycle under the guidance of experienced HR colleagues.

This role is an excellent development opportunity for an early-career HR professional looking to build strong HR generalist experience in a structured, international and collaborative environment.

We also welcome applications from more experienced HR professionals; depending on experience and capability, we can adjust the level of autonomy, scope and support within the role.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Senior HR Director for the country cluster, , the role combines hands-on delivery with exposure to a broad HR generalist scope, enabling the successful candidate to build business partnering capability and HR judgement through structured support, coaching and escalating more complex cases as appropriate.[JJ2] 

  • Key Responsibilities HR Advisory & Employee Lifecycle Support
    Provide first-line HR guidance to managers across the employee lifecycle, applying policies and processes and escalating topics when needed.
  • Individual Employee Matters
    Handling of individual employee matters (e.g., performance, absenteeism and return-to-work processes), preparing documentation and recommendations under the guidance of senior HR colleagues and in line with local legislation.
  • HR Processes & Transactions
    Support annual processes such as salary reviews, promotions and other HR transactions with appropriate review and sign-off where required.
  • Organisational Change
  • Support organisational changes from an HR perspective and help implement HR policies and procedures aligned with business needs, coordinating inputs with relevant stakeholders.
  • Inclusion & Wellbeing
    Contribute to initiatives supporting diversity, inclusion and work-life balance across the organisation.

Qualifications

The requirements

  • Typically, 2–5 years of experience in HR (including internships or apprenticeships), ideally in an international, professional services or corporate environment. Applications from more experienced candidates are also encouraged; the role can be scoped to reflect experience.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Human Resources, Employment Law, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), and confidence working with HR data, trackers and reports.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic and high-demand environment.
  • Strong communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and verbal
  • Strong interest in HR generalist topics and motivation to learn and develop.
  • Well organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Collaborative mindset, proactive attitude and strong sense of confidentiality.
